Ratings Analysis: ABC's latest reality effort 'Judge Steve Harvey' (0.73) had a fairly strong launch, debuting just a tenth below the much more high-profile 'Bachelor' (0.84) and clocking in as the third highest-rated broadcast of the evening. That positive momentum spilled over into the 9PM hour as sitcom 'Abbott Elementary' (0.64) returned a hundredth higher than its preview from December (0.63) and 'Black-ish' (0.53) was nearly two-tenths above its finale (0.35). Even struggling drama 'Queens' (0.28, +0.04) picked up a few hundredths despite being dead last in the 10PM hour. On NBC, 'This Is Us' (1.05) had a mammoth start to its sixth and final season, rising about 30% from its late-May season closer (0.81). Though it trailed past premieres, it's quite a feat for a scripted series to cross the 1.0 mark in the current TV landscape. Despite the success of 'This Is Us', the peacock network had little else to boast about as comedies 'American Auto' (0.39) and 'Grand Crew' (0.30) were legitimate eyesores in the 8PM hour. Even though 'Auto' outdid its month-ago premiere (0.36/0.27) and 'Crew' was close to the same level (0.40/0.30), neither comedy could be categorized as anything other than lackluster. Drama 'New Amsterdam' (0.37, -0.02) shed two-hundredths in the 10PM timeslot. CBS's 'FBI' (0.76, +0.01) inched up to a new season high and 'FBI: International' (0.56, +0.02) gained two-hundredths, but 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.47, -0.22) collapsed when compared to its last installment. 'Gordon Ramsay's Road Trip' (0.30) remained unremarkable on Fox. The CW had encores of 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.13) and 'Masters of Illusion' (0.09/0.07).
