Wednesday TV Ratings 12/31/25: New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and CNN New Year’s Eve Live Rise from 2025 in Viewers, New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash on CBS Heavily Down [+ Analysis]

ABC staple New Year's Rockin' Eve (1.35/1.90) was down in the key demo from 2024, but it was easily the top program of the night. CBS placed second with Nashville's Big Bash (0.58/0.63). On NBC, A Toast to 2025! (0.34) grew from the Wicked: One Wonderful Night repeat (0.25) that led into it. Fox did not have a special on hand, instead airing repeats of Hell's Kitchen (0.14) and Doc (0.07). The CW re-aired The '90s Boy Band Boom (0.03). Key: (R) = repeat.

Tuesday TV Ratings 12/31/24: CNN New Year’s Eve Live Down in Viewers, New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Declines from 2024, Seth Meyers Special Struggles [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: On ABC, New Year's Rockin' Eve (1.50/2.43/4.73) was down significantly from 2023 (1.83/2.95/5.33) but remained a massive force in the Adults 18-49 demographic. In the 8 p.m. time slot, CBS's New Year's Eve Live (0.69) was more than a full point below last year's NFL-inflated installment (1.77) but improved (1.12/1.57) as the evening progressed. NBC struggled to keep up with A Toast to 2024! (0.37) and Seth Meyers New Year's (0.27). Fox re-aired Kitchen Nightmares (0.12). On the CW, WWE NXT (0.15, +0.01) ticked up. Key: (R) = repeat.

Saturday TV Ratings 12/31/22: Miley's New Year’s Eve Party and Rockin’ Eve Slide from 2021 as CBS Special Climbs (UPDATED)

Finals Update: Rockin' Eve at 8 PM (+0.4) and 10:30 PM (+0.7), New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash at 8 PM (+0.1) and 10 PM (+0.5), A Toast to 2022 (+0.1) and Miley's New Year's Eve Party (+0.7) adjusted up.

Friday TV Ratings 12/31/21: New Year's Rockin' Eve Drops but Still Easily Leads, CBS and NBC Specials Solid (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: In typical New Year's Eve fashion, 'Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest' (1.58/2.10) outpaced the competing NYE offerings but still declined by well over 30% from 2020 (2.31/3.55). NBC had little luck with '2021: It's Toast!' (0.51) but exploded at 10:30pm with the Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson-hosted 'Miley's New Year's Eve Party' (1.89). After not offering a special the year prior, CBS got a solid rating out of 'New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash' (0.80). Following the cancellation of their annual 'Toast & Roast' gala, Fox went with meager encores of 'Beat Shazam' (0.33) and 'Gordon Ramsay's Road Trip' (0.23). The CW's 'iHeartRadio Music Festival' rerun (0.12) posted the same rating as it did the previous year (0.12).

Thursday TV Ratings 12/31/20: Rockin Eve Steady with 2019, Fox Toast & Roast Modest (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Similar to 2019, ABC took the lead with 'Dick Clark's Rockin Eve' (2.0/3.1), the alphabet network was essentially on-par with last year's performance (2.0/3.2). NBC came in a distant second place with its 'New Year' specials (0.8/1.0) while Fox trailed with 'Toast and Roast' (0.6). CBS stayed out of the NYE business, instead opting to air repeats of 'Young Sheldon' (0.4), 'B Positive' (0.3), 'Mom' (0.2), 'The Unicorn' (0.2), and 'FBI' (0.3). The CW aired an 'iHeartRadio Music Festival' (0.1) but forgot to send out the invitations.
