Ratings Analysis: ABC's Press Your Luck (0.33) returned with a rating that was 27% higher than its fall 2023 season premiere (0.26). Luck led into the series debut of new game show Lucky 13 (0.29). On CBS, Big Brother (0.51, -0.05) dropped from Wednesday's premiere. Masters of Illusion (0.03, 0.00) was steady on the CW, but World's Funniest Animals (0.03, -0.01) ticked down. Fox aired repeats of Don't Forget the Lyrics! (0.18) and Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars (0.10). On the final night of the Republican National Convention, NBC's coverage (0.43, +0.16) remained in the lead. ABC (0.40, +0.16) was close behind, while CBS (0.31, +0.12) placed third yet again. Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat.

Wednesday TV Ratings 7/17/24: Big Brother Returns Down, Claim to Fame Recovers as Millionaire Slips, Republican National Convention Rises [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: CBS's Big Brother (0.56) topped the night but returned with a rating that was 22% lower than last year's premiere (0.72). On ABC, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (0.38, -0.06) declined from last week's premiere, but Claim to Fame (0.30, +0.04) improved. The CW aired repeats of Police 24/7 (0.05) and Wild Cards (0.05). MasterChef (0.30, -0.01) and Food Stars (0.15, -0.04) dropped on Fox. In Republican National Convention news, NBC's coverage (0.27, +0.06) took the lead away from ABC (0.24, -0.01). CBS (0.19, +0.03) lagged behind the other two once again. Key: (P) = premiere. Tuesday TV Ratings 7/16/24: MLB All-Star Game Slightly Down from 2023, Celebrity Family Feud Tops America’s Got Talent, Republican National Convention Declines [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: The 2024 MLB All-Star Game (1.58) declined by just 2% from 2023's game (1.61) and led Fox to Tuesday-night dominance in both Adults 18-49 ratings and total viewership. On ABC, Celebrity Family Feud (0.41, +0.08) soared in its return to the 8 p.m. time slot and easily beat last week's premiere rating. At 9, Judge Steve Harvey (0.26) looked much healthier than it did a few months ago (0.11). America's Got Talent (0.38, -0.13) collapsed on NBC. The CW aired I Am JFK Jr. (0.04). Tuesday was also night two of the Republican National Convention, and ABC's coverage (0.25, -0.05) was the top-rated of the three broadcast networks that carried it. NBC (0.21, -0.12) dropped to second, while CBS (0.16, -0.07) remained in third. Key: (R) = repeat.

Monday TV Ratings 7/15/24: Republican National Convention Drops from Opening Night of 2020, Biden/Lester Holt Interview OK, The Bachelorette Slides [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: On opening night, NBC's broadcast of the Republican National Convention (0.33) was a step above ABC's showing (0.30). CBS (0.23) was last amongst the big three. Earlier in the night, NBC aired American Ninja Warrior (0.31, 0.00) and an interview with President Biden conducted by Lester Holt (0.34). ABC's The Bachelorette (0.37, -0.08) was down markedly from last week's premiere. Over on Fox, Name That Tune (0.21, -0.02) and The 1% Club (0.21, -0.01) both dipped. All American (0.08, 0.00) was steady for its finale on the CW, and spinoff All American: Homecoming (0.06, 0.00) matched last week's premiere rating. Key: (R) = repeat. (F) = finale.
