The TV Ratings Guide's 2016 Election Coverage

Hello and welcome to our coverage of the 2016 elections! I hope you all voted, and if you did, I thank you. The main contest on everyone's mind is the presidential election, but we'll also cover races for the Senate and for Governorships.
Below you can find a map of when he polls close in each state, courtesy of Daily Kos.








Electoral College: Donald Trump has won the presidency with 279 Electoral Votes.
Senate: Republicans will hold their majority in the Senate.
Governorships: Democrats hold their seat in Delaware, Republicans hold North Dakota.
House: NBC News projects that Republicans will HOLD their control of the House.

In the New Hampshire Senate race between Democratic Governor Maggie Hassan and Incumbent Republican Kelly Ayotte, Hassan is the winner. New Hampshire Secretary of State Bill Gardner has declared Hassan victorious. Update: Ayotte has conceded to Hassan.

Races Called After 11/8:
Michigan has been called for Trump.
Arizona has been called for Trump.
New Hampshire has been called for Clinton.
McCrory has conceded to Cooper in the NC gubernatorial race.

Louisiana Senate Runoff:
GOP candidate John N. Kennedy has defeated Democrat Foster Campbell in an expected victory.

*- Includes Senators Angus King (I-VT) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT) as Dems.

Note: California's Senate race is between Democrats Kamala Harris and Loretta Sanchez. Kamala Harris won the election in a landslide.

Note 2: Louisiana has a Run-Off system in place, so it will remain in tan on the Senate map until the Run-Off takes place in December.

With the runoff over, we close the book on the 2016 election.

Welcome to the sixth edition of the Sporcle Quizzes of the week! This week is all about one of my favorite shows, Saturday Night Live.

1) Politicians on SNL

I figured that this was a pretty good time for this quiz, since the Democratic Convention was this week, and the Election is getting very close. I made this quiz right after Trump's SNL Hosting Gig, and it was interesting to see how many politicians actually were on the show. I originally had 25, but some were very obscure. I feel that SNL is at its best when it's making fun of politicians. Especially in recent times, with Tina Fey's Palin, Darrell Hammond's Trump and Kate McKinnon's Clinton. SNL even gave Senator Franken his start. They really have a long history with politicians.

I love SNL, but this quiz was very difficult for me. I know a lot of the SNL cast members, but without clues, many of the names get lost in my head. There's so many obscure cast members that never really made their mark on SNL, and there's people that got famous later, and are not remembered as an SNL cast member.

It's a pretty great series, and they really interest me. The more familiar you are with a cast member, the better that you do on that quiz.

TOURNAMENT
This is the sixth week of the 1st TVRG-Sporcle Tournament. For each week, the winner of the week gets a varying amount of points, depending of how many people participated. If 5 people participate, the winner gets 4 point, if 6 participate, the winner gets 5 points, etc. For each place lower, the point increment drops by one point. At the end of 10 weeks, the person with the most points will win.
