Tuesday TV Ratings 7/20/21: NBA Finals End With Top Rating of the Year, Mental Samurai Finale and Superman & Lois Slip, The Flash Ends Steady (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: With the Milwaukee Bucks winning the Championship, the 6th and last game of the 2021 NBA Finals scored a mammoth 2.8 A18-49 rating. This flew past the preliminary rating of the final 2020 game (2.1) and has a legitimate chance of adjusting up into the 4s. 'Kimmel Game Night' (1.4) and 'NBA Countdown' (1.8) were on the upswing but will likely adjust down heavily as they always do. Although ABC was the main attraction, NBC's 'America's Got Talent' (0.8) remained at a solid level, down just a tenth from last week. 'Capital One College Bowl' was frozen at its usual 0.4 rating at 10. On CBS, 'Love Island' (0.3) lost a few hundredths when compared to its previous Tuesday telecast. 'Island' aired between repeats of 'NCIS' (0.3) and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.2). Opposite the 'NBA Finals', 'LEGO Masters' (0.4) and 'Mental Samurai' (0.2) found themselves in series low territory on Fox. This is the first time 'Samurai' has fallen to a 0.2 rating since its May premiere. In CW news, 'The Flash' (0.2) was steady for its season finale while 'Superman & Lois' (0.1) shed a tenth.

Finals Update: 'America's Got Talent' (+0.1), 'LEGO Masters' (+0.1), 'NBA Finals Game 6' (+1.5), 'Mental Samurai' (+0.1) and 'Superman & Lois' (+0.1) adjusted up. 'Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night' (-0.9) and 'NBA Countdown' (-0.8) adjusted down.

Tuesday TV Ratings 7/6/21: NBA Finals Down from 2020, America’s Got Talent Slips, LEGO Masters and College Bowl Steady (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: The Milwaukee Bucks faced off against the Phoenix Suns in the first game of the 2021 NBA Finals, notching a 2.0 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic. This was just a tenth behind the preliminary 2.1 that the first finals game garnered last year, meaning NBA ratings seem to have stabilized for now. As usual, 'Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night' (1.2) and 'NBA Countdown' (1.1) preceded the main attraction. ABC's dominance meant that NBC had to settle for second, with 'America's Got Talent' (0.8) dropping by two-tenths when compared to its last installment. There was a bit of a silver lining at 10 as 'Capital One College Bowl' (0.4) managed to match its week-ago rating. Fox's 'LEGO Masters' (0.5) and 'Mental Samurai' (0.3) both tied their previous Tuesday broadcasts. CBS's repeat lineup of 'NCIS' (0.3), 'FBI' (0.3), and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.3) maintained the same rating throughout the night. 'The Flash' (0.2) and a rerun of 'Superman & Lois' (0.1) were steady with seven days prior.

Finals Update: 'America's Got Talent' (+0.1) and 'NBA Finals Game 1' (+0.9) adjusted up. 'Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night' (-0.6) and 'NBA Countdown' (-0.3) adjusted down.

Tuesday TV Ratings 6/29/21: TMZ UFO Special Decent, College Bowl Dips Behind Rising Americas Got Talent (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: NBC had a mixed bag of an evening as 'America's Got Talent' (1.0) gained a tenth while the 'Capitol One College Bowl' (0.4) inched down from its debut. Fox got a passable rating out of a TMZ UFO special (0.4), but 'Mental Samurai' (0.3) lost a tenth when compared to its previous episode in the 9pm hour. 'The Flash' (0.2) held even and was followed by a 'Superman & Lois' rerun (0.1) on the CW. ABC got 0.3s out of its 8pm comedy repeats and 0.2s out of its 9pm reruns. A 10pm encore of 'To Tell the Truth' (0.3) surprisingly managed to grow from there. CBS had another round of drama repeats (0.3/0.3/0.3).

Finals Update: Repeats of NCIS (+0.1), The Conners (+0.1) and FBI: Most Wanted (+0.) adjusted up.

Tuesday TV Ratings 6/22/21: Capital One College Bowl Has Solid Premiere, LEGO Masters and America’s Got Talent Rise (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: After sinking for a special 10pm episode, NBC's 'America's Got Talent' (0.8) bounced back in its return to 8. The series rose two-tenths on a week-to-week basis and led into the debut of the 'Capital One College Bowl' (0.5). The latter was on-par with what 'New Amsterdam' garnered in the slot two weeks ago. Fox's 'LEGO Masters' (0.5) inched up from its preliminary 0.4 rating from the week prior. 'Mental Samurai' (0.3) held even once more at 9. ABC's reruns of 'The Goldbergs' (0.3), 'Home Economics' (0.2), 'The Conners' (0.2), 'Black-ish' (0.2), and 'To Tell the Truth' (0.2) were slightly below CBS's encores of 'NCIS' (0.3), 'FBI' (0.3), and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.3). The CW had steady broadcasts of 'The Flash' (0.2) and 'Superman & Lois' (0.2).

Finals Update: America's Got Talent (+0.1) and repeats of NCIS (+0.1), The Goldbergs (+0.1), Home Economics (+0.1) and The Conners (+0.1) adjusted up.

Tuesday TV Ratings 6/15/21: LEGO Masters Slips, America’s Got Talent Hits New Low Behind Olympic Trials, Superman & Lois Steady (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Airing at 10pm behind 'Olympic Swimming Trials' (0.5), NBC's 'America's Got Talent' (0.5) crashed to a new series low. The reality staple lost a whopping four-tenths from last week but remained above the other networks nevertheless. Fox's 'LEGO Masters' (0.4) gave back a tenth while 'Mental Samurai' (0.3) held steady. ABC got a 0.3 rating out of the 8pm 'Goldbergs' rerun but got 0.2s for the rest of the night from encores of 'Home Economics', 'Conners', 'Black-ish', and 'To Tell the Truth'. CBS had repeats of Monday-bound 'NCIS' (0.3), 'FBI' (0.2), and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.2). The CW was even with sturdy showings of 'The Flash' (0.2) and 'Superman & Lois' (0.2).
