Monday TV Ratings 1/4/21: The Hustler Starts Low Behind Weaker The Bachelor, Game of Games Fails to Improve (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Following a ten-month hiatus, The Bachelor' (1.2) was back in action on ABC. The reality juggernaut was the night's top broadcast by a sizable amount but trailed the 1.9 A18-49 rating it posted for its year-ago debut. At 10, the series premiere of 'The Hustler' (0.5) failed to make any significant noise. NBC's 'Ellen's Game of Games' (0.6/0.5) was on-par with where it left off three months ago but remained a shadow of its former self. The DeGeneres game show led into the premiere of 'The Wall' (0.5), the latter inched down from its March 2020 start (0.6). Over on CBS, 'The Neighborhood' (0.7), 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.6), 'All Rise' (0.5), and 'Bull' (0.5) all picked up a tenth when compared to their last showings. Fox aired the series finale of 'LA's Finest' (0.3) and a 'Masked Dancer' encore (0.2). The CW had repeats of 'Whose Line' (0.1/0.1) and 'Penn & Teller' (0.1).

Monday TV Ratings 12/28/20: NFL Leads Against Minimal Competition, The Neighborhood Encore Takes Second (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: ABC comfortably took the lead with its showing of the 'Bills v. Patriots' NFL game (1.2), the broadcast matched the preliminary rating that the December 7th game managed. CBS had solid repeats of 'The Neighborhood' (0.5), 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.4), 'Let's Make a Deal' (0.3), and 'Bull' (0.3). NBC aired 'Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors' (0.3) and a 'Weakest Link' encore (0.3). Fox's 'LA's Finest' (0.2) inched down to a new series low, beaten out by the '9-1-1' repeat (0.3) that came before it. The CW went with repeats of 'Whose Line' (0.1/0.1) and 'Penn & Teller' (0.1).

Final Update: ABC's NFL game (1.51, +0.3) and repeats of 'The Neighborhood' (0.56, +0.1), 'Dolly Parton' (0.35, +0.1), '9-1-1' (0.35, +0.1), and 'Let's Make a Deal' (0.37, +0.1) all adjusted up. The original episode of 'LA's Finest' (0.27, +0.1) also adjusted up.

Monday TV Ratings 12/14/20: Jingle Ball Gets the CW 0.1, The Bachelorette Narrowly Tops The Voice After Adjustments, CBS Shows All Fall (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Although they may come down after finals, 'The Voice' (1.0) and 'Nurses' (0.6) both rose two-tenths on NBC. This looks quite promising for 'Nurses' as the Canadian drama began its run in poor fashion last week. ABC's 'The Bachelorette' (1.0) lost two-tenths for a special Monday episode while there was virtually no interest for a vaccine-themed '20/20' (0.4) at 10. On CBS, 'The Neighborhood' (0.6), 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.5), 'All Rise' (0.4), and 'Bull' (0.4) all inched down when compared to their last installments. 'LA's Finest' (0.3) held even in its return, as did 'Cosmos' (0.2) for its second Monday episode. The CW had an 'iHeartRadio Jingle Ball' (0.1) and a 'Whose Line' encore (0.1). 

Finals Update: The Voice (-0.1) and Nurses (-0.2) adjusted down.

Monday TV Ratings 11/30/20: Disney Holiday Singalong Easily Leads the Night, CMA Country Christmas Also Solid, Filthy Rich Steady for Series Finale (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: ABC installed a 'Disney Holiday Singalong' (1.2) in the 8pm hour and was instantly rewarded with solid ratings. Although this Disney singalong went below the one from April (2.6) and May (1.4), it remained strong enough to outperform all competing networks. 'CMA Country Christmas' (0.8) was the direct lead-out to the special and rose a tenth from last year thanks to its robust lead-in. At 10pm, 'The Good Doctor' (0.7) managed to rise a tick from its previous episode. NBC's 'The Voice' (0.9) matched last week's data-point while 'Weakest Link' (0.6) inched up in the 10pm slot. On CBS, 'The Neighborhood' (0.9) rose a tenth from last week while 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.6), 'All Rise' (0.5), and 'Bull' (0.5) were all steady. The series finale of 'Filthy Rich' (0.3) held even on Fox and tied its 'LA's Finest' (0.3) lead-in. The CW went with repeats of 'Whose Line' (0.2/0.1) and 'Penn & Teller' (0.1).

Monday TV Ratings 11/23/20: Dancing with the Stars Rises for Finale, Bob Hearts Abishola Down, Gilmore Girls Modest in Premiere (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars' (0.9) closed out a strong season by rising a tenth from last week and tying 'The Voice' as the night's #1 broadcast. 'The Good Doctor' (0.6) couldn't quite rise alongside 'Dancing' but held even at 10pm. On CBS, 'The Neighborhood' (0.8) was steady with its week-ago premiere but lead-out comedy 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.6) lost a tenth. 9pm drama 'All Rise' (0.5) was flat while 'Bull' (0.5) gained a precious tenth after last week's hellish return. NBC was steady across the board with 'The Voice' (0.9) and Weakest Link' (0.5). Fox's 'LA's Finest' (0.3) held even while 'Filthy Rich' (0.3) inched up from the dreadful low it posted for its last episode. The CW aired the first installment of the 2016 'Gilmore Girls' reboot (0.1).
