Monday TV Ratings 11/30/20: Disney Holiday Singalong Easily Leads the Night, CMA Country Christmas Also Solid, Filthy Rich Steady for Series Finale (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: ABC installed a 'Disney Holiday Singalong' (1.2) in the 8pm hour and was instantly rewarded with solid ratings. Although this Disney singalong went below the one from April (2.6) and May (1.4), it remained strong enough to outperform all competing networks. 'CMA Country Christmas' (0.8) was the direct lead-out to the special and rose a tenth from last year thanks to its robust lead-in. At 10pm, 'The Good Doctor' (0.7) managed to rise a tick from its previous episode. NBC's 'The Voice' (0.9) matched last week's data-point while 'Weakest Link' (0.6) inched up in the 10pm slot. On CBS, 'The Neighborhood' (0.9) rose a tenth from last week while 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.6), 'All Rise' (0.5), and 'Bull' (0.5) were all steady. The series finale of 'Filthy Rich' (0.3) held even on Fox and tied its 'LA's Finest' (0.3) lead-in. The CW went with repeats of 'Whose Line' (0.2/0.1) and 'Penn & Teller' (0.1).

Finals Update: 'The Neighborhood' (-0.1), 'CMA Country Christmas' (-0.1), and 'The Good Doctor' (-0.1) adjusted down.

Monday TV Ratings 11/23/20: Dancing with the Stars Rises for Finale, Bob Hearts Abishola Down, Gilmore Girls Modest in Premiere (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars' (0.9) closed out a strong season by rising a tenth from last week and tying 'The Voice' as the night's #1 broadcast. 'The Good Doctor' (0.6) couldn't quite rise alongside 'Dancing' but held even at 10pm. On CBS, 'The Neighborhood' (0.8) was steady with its week-ago premiere but lead-out comedy 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.6) lost a tenth. 9pm drama 'All Rise' (0.5) was flat while 'Bull' (0.5) gained a precious tenth after last week's hellish return. NBC was steady across the board with 'The Voice' (0.9) and Weakest Link' (0.5). Fox's 'LA's Finest' (0.3) held even while 'Filthy Rich' (0.3) inched up from the dreadful low it posted for its last episode. The CW aired the first installment of the 2016 'Gilmore Girls' reboot (0.1).

Finals Update: Dancing with the Stars (+0.1) adjusted up.

Monday TV Ratings 11/16/20: The Neighborhood Premieres Strong, Bob Hearts Abishola Returns Decently as All Rise Does OK, Dancing with the Stars and The Voice Drop (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: The third season of CBS comedy 'The Neighborhood' (0.9) debuted in strong fashion, matching its September 2019 start and tying a declining 'Voice' for the top spot of the night. Lead-out comedy 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.7) was two-tenths below its year-ago series premiere (0.9) while dramas 'All Rise' (0.6) and 'Bull (0.5) fell a tenth and two-tenths respectively from where they were in fall 2019. NBC's 'The Voice' (0.9) shed one-tenth from last week while 'Weakest Link' (0.5) held even. On ABC, 'Dancing with the Stars' (0.8) and 'The Good Doctor' (0.5) were each down a notch, as were 'LA's Finest' (0.3) and 'Filthy Rich' (0.2) on Fox. The CW had steady showings of 'Whose Line' (0.2) and 'Penn & Teller' (0.2). In-between was a surprisingly strong 'Whose Line' repeat (0.3).

Finals Update: 'The Good Doctor' (+0.1) adjusted up. 'The Neighborhood' (-0.1), 'All Rise' (-0.1), 'Bull' (-0.1), 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (-0.1), and the repeat of 'Whose Line?' adjusted down.

Monday TV Ratings 11/9/20: Dancing with the Stars and The Voice Tie for First, Weakest Link Down After Week Off (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Barring downward adjustments after finals, ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars' (1.0) rose two-tenths from last week while 'The Good Doctor' (0.7) held even with its week-ago premiere. 'The Voice' (1.0) matched 'Dancing' on NBC but shed a tenth from its last episode. Its 'Weakest Link' (0.5) lead-out also lost a tick. CBS had a carousel of repeats (0.4/0.3/0.2/0.3) while Fox had a stable 'LA's Finest' (0.3) and a declining 'Filthy Rich' (0.2). Those dramas were so low-rated that repeats of 'Whose Line' (0.2/0.3) and 'Penn & Teller' (0.2) on the CW were on par with the Fox originals.

Finals Update: LA's Finest (+0.1), Filthy Rich (+0.1) and the repeat of Bob Hearts Abishola (+0.1) adjusted up. Dancing with the Stars (-0.1), The Good Doctor (-0.1), the 8:30 repeat of Whose Line? (-0.1) and the repeat of Penn & Teller: Fool Us (-0.1) adjusted down.

Monday TV Ratings 11/2/20: Good Doctor Premiere Hits Series Low, SNL Election Special OK Behind Steady The Voice, Filthy Rich Hits Low After Cancellation (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Continuing its tradition of premiering at or near its season low every year, ABC's 'The Good Doctor' (0.6) returned to the scene in legitimately concerning fashion. This result went a tenth below its season three low (0.7) and nearly 50% behind its stellar March 2020 finale (1.1). The long hiatus may have put a dent in 'Doctor' but it still looks fairly decent when compared to where broadcast television is as a whole. Lead-in 'Dancing with the Stars' (0.8) managed to hold steady when compared to last week. 'The Voice' (1.0) was also even on NBC, beating out every other program of the evening. The reality juggernaut lead into an election themed 'SNL' special (0.6) that tied what 'Weakest Link' did in the slot a week prior. CBS had a solid edition of 'The Price is Right' (0.6) leading into anemic 'All Rise' (0.2) and 'Bull' (0.2) encores. 'LA's Finest' (0.3) and 'Filthy Rich' (0.2) both lost a tenth, with 'Filthy' dropping down to a new series low. Ratings are ultimately irrelevant for this Fox drama duo as both have already been canceled. The CW had repeats of 'Whose Line' (0.2/0.2) and 'Penn & Teller' (0.2).

Finals Update: NBC's 'The Voice' (1.1, +0.1), Fox's 'Filthy Rich' (0.3, +0.1), and ABC's season premiere of 'The Good Doctor' (0.7, +0.1) all adjusted up. A repeat of 'Penn & Teller' (0.1, -0.1) adjusted down on the CW. Both 'The Good Doctor' and 'Filthy Rich' have now avoided hitting new lows, instead tying their previous ones.
