Tuesday TV Ratings 3/23/21: To Tell the Truth Finale and This Is Us Steady, New Amsterdam Rises, Mixedish Down After Break (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: ABC's 'Black-ish' (0.4) and 'Mixed-ish' (0.3) were back in originals for the first time since early March, with the former steady and the latter down a notch. The two sitcoms tied their series lows and were indistinguishable from week-ago repeats (0.36/0.33). Earlier in the night, the 'To Tell the Truth' finale (0.5) held even, as did a struggling 'Soul of a Nation' (0.2) at 10. NBC had little movement in either direction as 'Young Rock' (0.6), 'Kenan' (0.5), and 'This Is Us' (0.8) matched what they posted last week. 'New Amsterdam' (0.5) was able to pick up a tenth at 10. Fox had the finale of 'Holmes Family Effect' (0.3/0.3), with the series stable at 8 and slightly up at 9. Despite its stability, 'Family Effect' failed to outpace CBS's repeat lineup of 'NCIS' (0.5), 'FBI' (0.4), and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.4). 'The Flash' (0.2) and 'Superman and Lois' (0.2) were unchanged on the CW.

Finals Update: Blackish (+0.1), Mixedish (+0.1), Soul of a Nation (+0.1), This Is Us (+0.1), Superman & Lois (+0.1) and the repeat of FBI (+0.1) adjusted up.

Tuesday TV Ratings 3/16/21: Holmes Family Effect Bombs, This Is Us and New Amsterdam Tumble to New Lows (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Even as they enter their fourth week, it's clear that stabilization isn't in the cards for NBC's pair of new comedies. Coming off of a one-week break, 'Young Rock' (0.6) and 'Kenan' (0.4) both lost a tenth, with each sitcom hitting a fresh, new low. But those dips seemed rather mild when compared to 'This Is Us' (0.8) and 'New Amsterdam' (0.4), the two dramas fell by two-tenths. This means that every single program on the peacock network created a brand-new, series low. CBS was a lot more stable as 'NCIS' (0.8), 'FBI' (0.7), and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.6) clung to their week-ago numbers. On ABC, 'To Tell the Truth' (0.5) inched down as 'Soul of a Nation' (0.2) held steady. Repeats of 'Black-ish' (0.3) and 'Mixed-ish' (0.3) separated the two originals. Fox debuted reality program 'Holmes Family Effect' (0.3/0.2) and went even lower than Monday filler series 'America's Most Wanted' (0.37). 'The Flash' (0.2) and 'Superman and Lois' (0.2) had a tenth stripped away from them on the CW.

Finals Update: NCIS (+0.1), FBI (+0.1), Soul of a Nation (+0.1) and the Blackish repeat (+0.1) adjusted up.
