Tuesday TV Ratings 5/25/21: This Is Us Ends Steady at 10 PM, FBI Down for Finale, Mental Samurai Abysmal (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Tuesday night was filled with an odd mismatch of premieres and finales, as programs from the regular season continue to depart to make room for summer filler. NBC's 'The Voice' (0.7) got back a tenth on finale night, but 'This Is Us' couldn't rise for its closer, posting its fifth-straight 0.8 rating. 'This Is Us' was down more than 50% from the strong 1.7 it garnered for its previous season finale. Over on CBS, Monday-bound 'NCIS' (0.7) held even for its season finale and final Tuesday episode. Later in the night, 'FBI' (0.6) shed a tenth on finale night as 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.5) matched its last outing. ABC got decent mileage out of the first installment of a Mike Tyson documentary (0.5) and finished out the night with a poorly-rated George Floyd special (0.3). Fox had a particularly brutal evening as 'Game of Talents' (0.2) crashed to a new low for its finale, falling a whopping four-tenths without its usual 'Masked Singer' lead-in. The season two premiere of 'Mental Samurai' (0.2) failed to improve from there, going well below anything it posted in season one. On the CW, 'The Flash' (0.1) found itself in new-low territory while 'Superman & Lois' (0.2) rose by a tenth.

Finals Update: The finale of 'The Voice' (0.8, +0.1) and the premiere of 'Mike Tyson: The Knockout' (0.6, +0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 5/12/21: SEAL Team Steady Between Down Kids Say and SWAT, The Masked Singer and Chicago Fire Tick Down, The Conners Stable After Break (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Even as 'Chicago Fire' (0.9) and 'Chicago PD' (0.8) inched down, NBC's lineup remained the night's strongest trio. 'Chicago Med' (0.9) matched its week-ago performance at 8. ABC's comedy lineup was steady all-around, with anchors 'Goldbergs' (0.5) & 'Conners' (0.5) in passable territory and bottom-hour sitcoms 'Home Economics' (0.4) & 'Call Your Mother' (0.3) continuing to struggle. 'A Million Little Things' (0.3) lost a few hundredths at 10. Fox's 'The Masked Singer' (1.0) shed a tenth as 'Game of Talents' (0.5) held even. 'Kids Say' (0.3) and 'SWAT' (0.3) were down on CBS, with 'Seal Team' (0.4) unchanged in the middle. 'Kung Fu' (0.1) fell on the CW, but 'Nancy Drew held at 0.1.

Finals Update: 'The Masked Singer' (1.1, +0.1), 'The Goldbergs' (0.6, +0.1), 'The Conners' (0.6, +0.1), 'Home Economics' (0.5, +0.1), 'Kids Say the Dardnest Things' (0.4, +0.1), 'SWAT' (0.4, +0.1), and 'Kung Fu' (0.2, +0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 5/5/21: Kids Say the Darndest Things Bombs, The Masked Singer and Kung Fu Slip, The Goldbergs and Home Economics Steady at Lows (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: A week off seemed to put a dent in Fox's lineup as 'The Masked Singer' (1.0) and 'Game of Talents' (0.5) lost one-tenth and two-tenths respectively. 'Masked Singer' retained its title as the top program of the night, but NBC's 'One Chicago' lineup (0.8/0.9/0.9) was right on its heels. 'Chicago Med' (0.8) shed a tenth as 'Chicago Fire' (0.9) and 'PD' (0.9) held even. ABC was steady across the board with 'The Goldbergs' (0.5), 'Home Economics' (0.4), and 'A Million Little Things' (0.3). The latter led out of a pair of 'Conners' repeats (0.3/0.3). CBS revived ABC's reboot of 'Kid's Say the Darndest Things' (0.3) and it went below ever single rating it posted on the alphabet network. 'SEAL Team' (0.4) and 'SWAT' (0.4) were flat at 9 and 10. After a month of 0.2s, the CW's 'Kung Fu' slipped into 0.1 territory. 'Nancy Drew' (0.1) was unaffected in the 9pm slot.

Finals Update: The Masked Singer (+0.1), Chicago Med (+0.1), Chicago Fire (+0.1), Home Economics (+0.1), A Million Little Things (+0.1), Kids Say the Darndest Things (+0.1) and Kung Fu (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 4/14/21: The Conners and The Goldbergs Steady as Home Economics and A Million Little Things Take Hits, Tough as Nails Rises for Finale (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: After a fairly promising start, ABC's 'Home Economics' (0.4) lost two-tenths from its premiere, despite the stability of its 'Goldbergs' lead-in (0.6). Barring an upward adjustment, 'Economics' is already below the season low of previous timeslot occupant 'American Housewife' (0.45). Later on, 'The Conners' (0.6) was relatively steady while 'Call Your Mother' (0.3) shed a clean 50% of its lead-in. At 10, 'A Million Little Things' (0.3) dipped to a new series low for its second Wednesday episode. On the heels of its two-season renewal, CBS's 'Tough As Nails' (0.5) gained a tenth for its season finale. Repeats of 'United States of AI' (0.3/0.3) and 'SWAT' (0.2) followed from there. Fox once again took the lead, with 'The Masked Singer' (1.1) and 'Game of Talents' (0.6) unchanged from last week. NBC had sturdy encores of 'Chicago Med' (0.5), 'Chicago Fire' (0.5), and 'Chicago PD' (0.4). Episode two of 'Kung Fu' (0.2) and the twelfth 'Nancy Drew' (0.1) held even on the CW.

Finals Update: The Masked Singer (+0.1), Home Economics (+0.1), Call Your Mother (+0.1), A Million Little Things (+0.1) and the repeat of Chicago PD (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 4/7/21: Home Economics Has OK Start, Kung Fu Solid for The CW, The Goldbergs and The Conners Rise (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: ABC unveiled new comedy 'Home Economics' (0.5) at 8:30 in rather passable fashion. This rating was slightly above the week-ago 'American Housewife' finale (0.47) but a good bit behind its stable 'Goldbergs' lead-in (0.6) and rising 'Conners' lead-out (0.6/0.6). At 10, 'A Million Little Things' (0.4) made a seamless transition to Wednesday nights, tying its latest Thursday episode. NBC had a rough evening as 'Chicago Fire' (0.7) and 'Chicago PD' (0.7) each took alarming three-tenth dips. In comparison, 8pm anchor 'Chicago Med' (0.8) only lost a tenth. 'The Masked Singer' (1.1) ticked down on Fox but will likely get that tenth back after finals. 'Game of Talents' (0.6) was frozen at last week's number. CBS's 'Tough as Nails' (0.4) tied its previous installment, but 'SEAL Team' (0.4) and 'SWAT' (0.4) lost one-tenth and two-tenths respectively. On the CW, the series premiere of 'Kung Fu' (0.2) had a fairly respectable start by the network's standards. That momentum helped 'Nancy Drew' (0.1) rise from last week's horrid 0.0 preliminary rating.

Finals Update: 'The Goldbergs' (+0.1), 'Home Economics' (+0.1), both episodes of 'The Conners' (+0.1, +0.1), 'Chicago Fire' (+0.1), and 'Chicago PD' (+0.1) adjusted up.
