EXT. MANHATTAN SKYLINE - DAY
An urban area is situated in Staten Island in the middle of New York City.
EXT. CENTRAL PARK - DAY
Amanda and Sarah walk furiously on the sidewalk in the outskirts of Central Park.
The crime scene from the night before has been cleared out. Only the eerie feeling of death remains on the horizon.
At the corner of Central Park, Al is furiously picking up candy wrappers, plastic bottles, and aluminum cans with a sigh of resolute sadness.
Amanda turns to Sarah in panic mode, not expecting the next response.
AMANDA
I wonder if that guy witnessed anyone last alive.
Sarah turns to look at Amanda with a stern gaze.
SARAH
We can go find out, but with caution.
Sarah and Amanda slowly walk towards Al.
Al then looks up to see them. He then stiffens up.
AL
Hey, you! What do you want from me? Can’t you see I’m trying to pick up some recyclables here?
Sarah and Amanda pause.
SARAH
(hurriedly)
We just want to know if you knew Alex.
Al takes a pause. A tear exits from his eye.
He walks closer to Sarah and Amanda.
AL
I knew him. I can’t believe he’s gone, and like this.
Amanda sighs.
AMANDA
We’re still trying to figure out everything. We witnessed his co-worker lying in a pool of blood last night. He was murdered.
AL
Oh no. This city is cursed.
SARAH
If anything, I suspect we have a serial killer on the loose. When was the last time you saw Alex alive?
AL
The last time I saw him was a couple of days ago, in the morning. He was jogging along Central Park.
Amanda then picks up another clue from the park bench. It appears to be a cell phone.
Sarah and Al turn around to look at Amanda.
AMANDA
Think we should take this to the police?
SARAH
I’ll take a look at this.
Al scratches his head.
Sarah unlocks the phone and proceeds to look at the contents of the phone.
INSERT - PHONE, reading “CYNTHIA-ANN”
Sarah’s eyes widen.
SARAH (CONT’D)
I wonder who is Cynthia-Ann?
AL
I’m guessing that would be Alex’s fifteen year old daughter.
SARAH
Hmmm...hopefully we will know what details have occured. Thank you for your time.
Al waves goodbye, and Amanda and Sarah depart to their car.
INT. CAR - DAY
As the car departs from Central Park, Sarah drives all over New York City.
Amanda sighs.
AMANDA
This seems fishy to me.
SARAH
Amanda, Al doesn’t strike me as a killer.
AMANDA
How would he know that Alex had a daughter at home?
Sarah sighs.
SARAH
I don’t know, honey. But we really need to figure something out.
Amanda looks down.
Next week, more clues arise. Are they going to be any closer? Find out on the next Whoa Folks, I Had Another Dream!
