Summer Renew/Cancel Week 3: Fox Needs to Run Away from Bear Grylls is Running Wild

The Summer Renew/Cancel returns after a month-long hiatus, as American Ninja Warrior joins the fray and Bear Grylls is Running Wild heads into the red, following a disappointing season in the ratings.

Tuesday TV Ratings 6/9/26: Bear Grylls is Running Wild Ends on a Series Low, Farmer Wants a Wife Finale Ticks Up, Stanley Cup Final Rises Again [+ Analysis]

It was finale night on Fox, and Farmer Wants a Wife (0.14, +0.01) closed out its season with an uptick, but Bear Grylls Is Running Wild (0.08, -0.01) dipped to a new low on its way out. On ABC, the Stanley Cup Final (1.44, +0.02) inched up in game four. On NBC, America's Got Talent (0.45, -0.05) and Password (0.25, -0.04) dealt with some notable post-premiere declines. CBS went with repeats of NCIS (0.16), NCIS: Origins (0.13), and NCIS: Sydney (0.11). WWE NXT (0.09, +0.02) climbed higher on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat. (F) = finale. 

Summer Renew/Cancel Week 2: The Password is... Renewed

This week on the Summer Renew/Cancel, two of NBC's few remaining summer programs return, as top-rated America's Got Talent returns for another season of strong ratings, and Password returns after a two-year hiatus.

Tuesday TV Ratings 6/2/26: America’s Got Talent Returns with Highest-Rated Premiere Since 2023, Stanley Cup Final Has Highest Start Since 2022, Password Also Returns Up [+ Analysis]

America's Got Talent (0.50) returned in impeccable shape on NBC, rising almost 22% from its year-ago premiere (0.41), and Password (0.29) also posted a solid premiere rating at ten. But despite the Peacock network's success, it was ABC that had the evening's top broadcast in the Adults 18-49 demographic with their showing of the first Stanley Cup Final game (1.31). Over on Fox, Bear Grylls is Running Wild (0.09, -0.02) dropped to a new low, while Farmer Wants a Wife (0.13, 0.00) was steady. WWE NXT (0.07, +0.02) rose on the CW. Key: (P) = premiere. Tuesday TV Ratings 5/26/26: Summer House Soars, NBA Playoffs Decline, Running Wild and Farmer Wants a Wife Hit Lows [+ Analysis]

NBC's NBA playoffs broadcast (2.07) was the top program on Tuesday night, giving the network an effortless win. ABC aired repeats of RJ Decker (0.16/0.11/0.08), while CBS went with encores of NCIS (0.24), NCIS: Origins (0.19), and NCIS: Sydney (0.13). Farmer Wants a Wife (0.13, -0.01) and Bear Grylls Is Running Wild (0.11, -0.01) inched down on Fox. Summer Renew/Cancel Week 1: Farmer Wants a Wife, Will Get a Renewal Instead

With the 2025-26 regular season now over, it's time to take a look at the summer season, with predictions for the summer series that have debuted so far. Keep reading for my initial predicitons for the four Fox reality series that kicked off summer programming for the year.

Tuesday TV Ratings 5/19/26: Forever Young: A Grammy Salute to Rod Stewart Takes #2 on Broadcast on a Quiet Night, NBA Playoffs Soar for Cavaliers/Knicks, Farmer Wants a Wife Ticks Up [+ Analysis]

Forever Young: A Grammy Salute to Rod Stewart (0.17) was an okay performer for CBS but still lost to NBC's repeat of America's Got Talent (0.22). NBC also had the edge at ten as their Password repeat (0.14) was slightly ahead of CBS's NCIS encore (0.13). Repeats of RJ Decker (0.16/0.15/0.11) aired on ABC. On Fox, Farmer Wants a Wife (0.14, +0.01) ticked up, while Running Wild (0.12, 0.00) held steady. The CW's WWE NXT (0.08, +0.02) was also up. Key: (R) = repeat.

Tuesday TV Ratings 5/12/26: NCIS: Sydney Underperforms NCIS: Origins in 9 PM Airing, NCIS Down for Finale, Celebrity Jeopardy! Rises on Special Night [+ Analysis]

CBS's NCIS (0.33, -0.05) dipped on finale night, while NCIS: Sydney (0.19, +0.01) slightly improved at nine but declined for its proper closer at ten (0.17, -0.02). On ABC, Celebrity Jeopardy! (0.31, +0.03) was up on a special night, and a Diane Sawyer special about Richard Simmons (0.27) held onto much of that audience. NBA on NBC (1.44), unsurprisingly, had the highest Adults 18-49 rating of the night, while the CW's WWE NXT (0.06, -0.05) dealt with a harsh decline. Farmer Wants a Wife (0.13, -0.03) and Running Wild (0.12, -0.03) slipped on Fox. Key: (R) = repeat. On ABC, crime drama Will Trent (0.27, +0.04) ended its season with an uptick, and Betrayal: Secrets & Lies (0.11, +0.03) was up on a new night. NCIS (0.38, +0.06) went above last week's installment on CBS, and NCIS: Sydney (0.18, +0.03) climbed higher as well, but NCIS: Origins (0.24, -0.02) declined in the middle for its season finale. NBC's NBA Playoffs broadcast (1.28) dominated in the key demo. On Fox, Farmer Wants a Wife (0.16, +0.03) and Running Wild (0.15, +0.03) bounced back after some nasty falls. WWE NXT (0.11, +0.04) surged on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat. (F) = finale.

Tuesday TV Ratings 4/28/26: RJ Decker Finale and Will Trent Slip Again, Running Wild Slides in Week Two, NBA Playoff Game on ESPN Leads [+ Analysis]

ABC drama RJ Decker (0.17, -0.03) was down on season finale night, and its Will Trent lead-in (0.23, -0.03) also slipped. Farmer Wants a Wife (0.13, -0.02) declined from last week's premiere on Fox, but it was Bear Grylls is Running Wild (0.12, -0.06) that dealt with a particularly damaging blow. CBS's NCIS (0.32, +0.02), NCIS: Origins (0.26, +0.07), and NCIS: Sydney (0.15, +0.02) were all on the rise. NBC went with another NBA Playoffs broadcast (0.69). WWE NXT (0.07, -0.03) took a hit on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat. (F) = finale.

Tuesday TV Ratings 4/21/26: Bear Grylls Is Running Wild Decent in Network Return, NCIS: Origins and RJ Decker Decline, Summer House Jumps [+ Analysis]

Bear Grylls Is Running Wild (0.18) had an acceptable start on Fox, rising noticeably from the return of Farmer Wants a Wife (0.15). On CBS, NCIS (0.30, +0.01) ticked up, but NCIS: Origins (0.19, -0.01) and NCIS: Sydney (0.13, -0.03) declined. Will Trent (0.26, -0.02) and RJ Decker (0.20, -0.02) also slipped on ABC. NBA on NBC (0.90/1.06) dominated overall, and the CW's WWE NXT (0.10, +0.01) rose slightly. Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat.

Thursday TV Ratings 5/22/25: Transplant Very Low in Return, Farmer Wants a Wife Ends Down, NBA Playoffs Continue to Dominate [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: NBC's Transplant (0.12/0.12) made almost no noise in its return and lost to a 10 p.m. rerun of Law & Order (0.13). On Fox, Farmer Wants a Wife (0.14, -0.06) plummeted on finale night. CBS aired repeats of Georgie & Mandy (0.23), Ghosts (0.19), Matlock (0.13), and Elsbeth (0.12). ABC went with encores of 9-1-1 (0.22/0.19/0.20). Police 24/7 (0.04, -0.04) shed half of last week's rating on the CW. Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat. (F) = finale. 

Thursday TV Ratings 4/24/25: NFL Draft Up from 2024, Elsbeth Down in Move to 9 PM, Georgie & Mandy, Ghosts and Next Level Chef Sink [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: On ABC, the 2025 NFL Draft posted a strong 1.09 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic, a 4% improvement on last year's performance (1.05). Over on CBS, Georgie & Mandy (0.38, -0.08) and Ghosts (0.32, -0.08) both took a hit, and Elsbeth (0.25, -0.01) dropped in its move to nine. NBC aired reruns of Law & Order (0.16), SVU (0.18), and Found (0.12). Fox cooking series Next Level Chef (0.22, -0.14) plummeted, but Farmer Wants a Wife (0.18, +0.01) ticked up. Police 24/7 (0.06, -0.01) inched down on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat.

Ratings Analysis: CBS sitcom Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage (0.42, -0.06) cooled down in its return, but Ghosts (0.45, +0.04), Matlock (0.38, +0.08), and Elsbeth (0.27, +0.04) were on the rise. On ABC, 9-1-1 (0.38, -0.07), Doctor Odyssey (0.23, -0.04), and Grey's Anatomy (0.19, -0.02) all dropped. Law & Order (0.25, -0.01) and Found (0.19, -0.03) slipped on NBC, but SVU (0.34, +0.07) soared at nine. Next Level Chef (0.21, -0.04) weakened on Fox, but Farmer Wants a Wife (0.21, +0.02) actually grew. Police 24/7 (0.03, -0.01) was a hundredth shy of last week's installment on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat.

Thursday TV Ratings 3/27/25: March Madness Rises from Last Thursday but Down from Sunday, 9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey Also Rise, Next Level Chef Drops [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: CBS's March Madness coverage (1.37/1.60) led the way on Thursday, topping the night once more in the key demographic. 9-1-1 (0.45, +0.05) and Doctor Odyssey (0.27, +0.03) rose on ABC, but Grey's Anatomy (0.21, -0.02) diminished in size. On Fox, Next Level Chef (0.25, -0.03) and Farmer Wants a Wife (0.19, -0.01) dropped. NBC aired encores of Suits LA (0.13/0.13/0.09). Police 24/7 (0.04, -0.02) and Crime Nation (0.03, -0.01) fell on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat. (F) = finale.

Thursday TV Ratings 3/20/25: Farmer Wants a Wife Returns Stable, March Madness Starts Down from 2024, SVU Drops to Series Low [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: At least on premiere night, Fox's Farmer Wants a Wife (0.20) was a marked improvement on the comedies that previously occupied the 9 p.m. hour. Earlier in the evening, Next Level Chef (0.28, +0.04) beat out last week's episode. On ABC, dramas 9-1-1 (0.40, -0.01) and Doctor Odyssey (0.24, -0.01) shed a hundredth apiece. Grey's Anatomy (0.23, +0.04) recovered at ten. Law & Order (0.26, -0.01) and Law & Order: SVU (0.27, -0.05) declined on NBC, but Found (0.22, +0.04) gained momentum. CBS led the way with March Madness coverage (1.42/0.94). On the CW, Police 24/7 (0.06, +0.01) and Crime Nation (0.04, +0.01) each gained a hundredth. Key: (P) = premiere. 

Thursday TV Ratings 4/25/24: NFL Draft Rises from 2023, Elsbeth Hits New Low, Young Sheldon and Ghosts Also Drop (Final Ratings w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: The NFL Draft (1.05) was a tenth higher than it was in 2023 (0.95) and propelled ABC to 18-49 demographic dominance. On CBS, Young Sheldon (0.43, -0.06), Ghosts (0.45, -0.05), So Help Me Todd (0.32, -0.01), and Elsbeth (0.24, -0.04) all declined. Next Level Chef (0.29, -0.08) and Farmer Wants a Wife (0.20, -0.07) collapsed on Fox. The Law & Order shows (0.18/0.17/0.18) were in repeat mode on NBC. Patti Stanger: The Matchmaker (0.06, 0.00) held steady on the CW, but Lovers and Liars (0.02, -0.01) ticked down. 

Thursday TV Ratings 4/18/24: Ghosts and Law & Order: SVU Lead the Night, Young Sheldon and So Help Me Todd Slip, Elsbeth Stable (Final Ratings w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: Young Sheldon (0.49, -0.09) nearly lost a full tenth on CBS, but Ghosts (0.50, -0.05) declined by a smaller amount and built on its lead-in. So Help Me Todd (0.33, -0.02) also slipped, but Elsbeth (0.28, 0.00) was stable. NBC was up across the board as Law & Order (0.36, +0.08), Law & Order: SVU (0.50, +0.17), and Organized Crime (0.33, +0.06) all surged, with SVU rising by close to two-tenths. Next Level Chef (0.37, +0.03) and Farmer Wants a Wife (0.27, +0.07) shot up on Fox, with Farmer setting a new season high. Patti Stanger: The Matchmaker (0.06, +0.03) doubled last week's premiere rating on the CW. ABC re-ran 9-1-1 (0.19/0.17/0.18).
