Monday TV Ratings 5/9/22: The Good Doctor Hits New Series Lows, New Amsterdam and Bob Hearts Abishola Tie Lows, American Song Contest Ends Up (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Although it grew from the middling broadcast of 2016 Disney film 'Moana' (0.33) that led into it, ABC's 'The Good Doctor' (0.35, -0.06) declined by six-hundredths from last week's episode and hit a new series low in the process. NBC's 'American Song Contest' (0.33, +0.05) gained five-hundredths for its season finale, but 'New Amsterdam' (0.26, -0.09) plummeted in the 10PM hour. CBS sitcoms 'The Neighborhood' (0.55, -0.07) and 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.44, -0.08) also plunged and led into reruns of 'NCIS' (0.30) and 'NCIS: Hawai'i' (0.25). Fox's '9-1-1' (0.70) held steady with last week's rating and topped the evening yet again. At 9, spinoff '9-1-1: Lone Star' (0.64, +0.13) bounced back by a remarkable amount and was the second highest-rated broadcast of the evening, only behind its parent program. 'All American' (0.11, -0.01) and 'All American: Homecoming' (0.08, -0.02) shed a hundredth and two-hundredths respectively on the CW.

Finals Update: 'New Amsterdam' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Monday TV Ratings 5/2/22: American Idol Slips for Reunion Special, NCIS and Bob Hearts Abishola Rise, Shark Tank Slightly Up on Special Night, 9-1-1 Leads (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: ABC's 'American Idol: The Great Idol Reunion' special (0.68) was four-hundredths lower than last Monday's 'Idol' and failed to top the evening like it often does. An out-of-timeslot 'Shark Tank' (0.53) and rising 'Good Doctor' (0.41, +0.02) filled out the remainder of the night for the alphabet network. CBS saw major improvements as 'NCIS' (0.55, +0.12) and 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.52, +0.08) posted strong gains while 'The Neighborhood' (0.62, +0.03) and 'NCIS: Hawai'i' (0.43, +0.04) grew at more modest rates. 'American Song Contest' (0.28, +0.01) picked up a hundredth on NBC as 'The Endgame' (0.20, -0.04) slipped for its finale. Fox's '9-1-1' (0.70, +0.02) rose by two-hundredths and was also the highest-rated program of the night. Despite that rise, '9-1-1: Lone Star' (0.51, -0.11) dropped by more than a full tenth. On the CW, 'All American' (0.12, -0.02) shed two-hundredths as 'All American: Homecoming' (0.10) tied its week-ago delivery.

Finals Update: 'American Idol: The Great Idol Reunion' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Monday TV Ratings 4/25/22: 9-1-1: Lone Star and American Idol Rise, 9-1-1 Stable, The Price Is Right At Night Solid

Ratings Analysis: ABC's 'American Idol' (0.72, +0.10) grew by a full tenth when stacked up against last Monday and managed to top the evening. That strong lead-in was essentially wasted on a 10PM rerun of 'The Good Doctor' (0.22). Fox drama '9-1-1' (0.68) tied its last outing as '9-1-1: Lone Star' (0.62, +0.04) gained four-hundredths. CBS's 'The Price Is Right At Night' (0.61, +0.08) was up by eight-hundredths from the installment that aired on Valentine's Day (0.53) and led into encores of 'NCIS' (0.31) and 'NCIS: Hawai'i' (0.25). 'American Song Contest' (0.27) didn't budge on NBC, but 'The Endgame' (0.24, +0.06) picked up six-hundredths. 'All American' (0.14, +0.01) and 'All American: Homecoming' (0.10, +0.01) each rose by a hundredth on the CW.

Finals Update: 'American Idol' (+0.1), '9-1-1' (+0.1), and the rerun of 'NCIS: Hawai'i' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Monday TV Ratings 4/11/22: CMT Awards Solid for CBS, 9-1-1 and American Song Contest Slip (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The '2022 CMT Music Awards' (0.67) proved to be a legitimate success for CBS and outrated the last episodes of the network's typical Monday lineup (0.63/0.52/0.54/0.49). 'American Idol' (0.68) fended off the 'CMT Music Awards' by a single hundredth but was five-hundredths below Sunday's broadcast. ABC closed out their evening with a rising edition of 'The Great Doctor' (0.39, +0.02). '9-1-1' (0.62, -0.07) and '9-1-1: Lone Star' (0.45, -0.05) slipped to new series lows on Fox, as did 'All American' (0.10, -0.06) and 'All American: Homecoming' (0.07, -0.04) on the CW. NBC's 'American Song Contest' (0.28) held flat as 'The Endgame' (0.21, +0.01) picked up a hundredth.

Finals Update: 'American Idol' (+0.1), '2022 CMT Music Awards' (+0.1), and 'American Song Contest' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Monday TV Ratings 4/4/22: American Idol Leads, Weakest Link Stays Weak Behind Low American Song Contest (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: ABC's 'American Idol' (0.64) was a tenth lower than the previous Monday but just a hundredth below what it garnered on Sunday night. At 10, 'The Good Doctor' (0.37, -0.07) crashed to a new series low. NBC's 'Weakest Link' (0.24, +0.04) rose by four-hundredths from Sunday's dismal showing but couldn't even match the fading 'American Song Contest' (0.28, -0.06) that led into it. The rest of the networks had lineups solely comprised of repeats, with CBS offering up encores of 'The Neighborhood' (0.44), 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.37), 'NCIS' (0.28), and 'NCIS: Hawai'i' (0.22). Fox went with reruns of '9-1-1' (0.34) and '9-1-1: Lone Star' (0.29) while the CW had repeat showings of 'All American' (0.07) and 'All American: Homecoming' (0.06).

Finals Update: The repeat of 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (+0.1) adjusted up.
