INT. HOUSE - NIGHT
Edison and Brittaney lie in bed. Next to them, Christina lies asleep in her crib. She awakens and states crying. Edison and Brittaney wake up.
EDISON
I got it.
Morning
The group sit at the dining table eating breakfast. Brittaney is holding Christina.
Andrew yawns.
BRITTANEY
I’m sorry if Christina is waking you all up.
ANDREW
Don’t apologize. We are all prepared for this.
MEGAN
Yeah don’t worry about us.
PAIGE
How are you doing in your classes?
BRITTANEY
Thankfully, I have very understanding professors. I got extensions on most of my assignments.
EDISON
I offered to do her homework.
BRITTANEY
And I appreciate that but I’m really trying to maintain a good GPA. Speaking of classes, I have a quiz today. Edison, can you watch her?
EDISON
Of course. My class got cancelled. Professor got a DUI.
SARAH
Seriously?
ANDREW
Yeah. Turns out he was drunk during our lectures as well.
INT. HALLWAY - DAY
Brittaney exits her classroom and answers her phone.
BRITTANEY
Edison what’s wrong?
EDISON
Hey, so Christina has a rash, and it looks kind of bad. Do we have anything in the apartment for it?
BRITTANEY
No. Take her to the pediatrician.
EDISON
Really? You sure?
BRITTANEY
Yes, look I got to get back to class. Text me after okay.
EDISON
Got it.
Later.
INT. HOUSE - DAY
Brittaney enters the house. Edison in on the floor playing with Christina.
BRITTANEY
Hey, how was the appointment?
EDISON
I Splurged a little and got the full workup.
Edison lifts his and Christina’s feet.
EDISON
Don’t we both look nice.
BRITTANEY
What the hell are you talking about?
EDISON
I did what you told me to do.
BRITTANEY
And that was?
EDISON
I took her to get a pedicure.
BRITTANEY
Edison, I told you to take her to the pediatrician? The baby doctor.
EDISON
Oh. I guess I heard you wrong.
BRITTANEY
You know, sometimes you do some really stupid stuff, but this takes the cake.
EDISON
Hey, this parenting thing is hard, give me a break.
BRITTANEY
A break! Edison, I’M THE ONE WHO NEEDS THE BREAK! I’m balancing a bachelor’s degree and taking care of Christina.
Brittaney starts hyperventilating. Edison puts Christina in a car seat and goes over to her. He holds her.
EDISON
I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I know I messed up and I’m sorry. I’ll be better I promise.
BRITTANEY
I’m sorry.
EDISON
It’s okay. Look, I was going to wait to surprise you but… the group… they’ve agreed to help you in your classes.
BRITTANEY
What?
EDISON
Well, mostly Paige. She really likes homework.
BRITTANEY
Edison, I… Thank you.
EDISON
Britt, you’re not alone. WE are not alone. We have friends. Christina has the best extended family that anyone could ask for.
