The latest scripted series from ABC, The Baker and the Beauty, has been canceled after one season. The comedy-drama series launched to modest ratings in April, though it had little support from a weak Listen To Your Heart lead-in. It stayed steady in the following weeks and wasn't rating much differently from the rest of ABC's new dramas this season, averaging 0.47. Its ownership by Universal Television likely worked against it with ratings so similar to shows fully owned by ABC. Nathalie Kelley, Victor Rasuk, Dan Bucatinsky, David Del Rio, and Lisa Vidal star in the series, developed by Dean Georgaris (who also created Bluff City Law) and based on the Israeli series Beauty and the Baker.
This was a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.
