The TV Ratings Guide’s Fourth Annual Renewal Odds Challenge!

The end of the 2021-22 television season is nearing, and we here at The TV Ratings Guide have decided to bring back a game we post each year around this time. Our Renewal Odds Challenge is back for another year! In this game, we ask participants to give every scripted program on television renewal odds, assigning each show renewal odds from 0 to 100, with 0 meaning you think it has no chance for renewal and 100 meaning you think it's certain to be back. You may participate as many times as you want, but your scores from each time will be preserved and averaged out, meaning that if you give a show 90% odds in your first submission and 100% odds in your second, your odds will then be 95%. Once all networks make their decisions, your scores will be figured out and posted here. It is graded on a scale from -50 to 50 points. A correct 100 or 0 prediction will get you 50 points. Submitting 50% odds is considered a push and you will not receive or lose points. If you are wrong, and submit 30% odds for a show that ends up renewed, you will lose 20 points. Our Renewal Odds Challenge, last seen here on TVRG in 2019, is back for a second go-round In this game, we ask participants to give every scripted program on television renewal odds, assinging each show renewal odds from 0 to 100, with 0 meaning you think it has no chance for renewal and 100 meaning you think it's certain to be back. You may participate as many times as you want, but your scores from each time will be preserved and averaged out, meaning that if you give a show 90% odds in your first submission and 100% odds in your second, your odds will then be 100%. TVRG’s Second-Annual Renew/Cancel Odds Game

The TV Ratings Guide is kicking off season two of last year's popular Renewal Odds Game. Season one was one by Existence (NBC Fan). For those unfamiliar, or those that forget the details, this game will give readers the chance the guess how likely each in-season scripted show is to be renewed. Using the form attached below, you may put a number, 0 (least likely) through 100 (most likely), for every show, based on how likely you think it is that it will be renewed. Shows that debut in-season but spill into summer (like Council of Dads) will be included, but shows that were once in-season but now are summer exclusives will not be. The form may be submitted and altered as much as you want, and we will keep track of each guess, which will be averaged out to get your final score for each show. For example, if you submit forms at three separate times, and give a show 100%, 30%, and 45% odds, your final score for the show will be 58%. If the show ends up canceled, you will end up winning 8 points. If it is canceled, you will lose 8 points. For that reason, try to make each guess as realistic as possible. TVRG’s First-Annual Renew/Cancel Odds Game - Week 1 Standings & Show Odds Update

The TV Ratings Guide's Renewal Odds Game is a week old, and the networks have granted renewals to three shows in that time. Each week, we'll be providing an update in the standings between players, as well as the average renewal odds for every show. For this first week alone, we will also be providing a list of every un-renewed show and how many people think they will be renewed, how many have them as complete toss-ups, and how many think they will be canceled. Anyone that has yet to compete or would like to update their odds is more than welcome to - the more the merrier!
