Monday TV Ratings 12/21/20: The Bachelorette Leads Against Minimal Competition from NBC, Fox and The CW, The Neighborhood Repeat Takes Second (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Of the few originals to air on a quiet Monday evening, ABC's 'The Bachelorette' (1.2) gained a tenth when compared to its previous installment. The reality staple was followed by a repeat of 'CMA Country Christmas' (0.4). CBS went with repeats of 'The Neighborhood' (0.5), 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.4), 'Kid of the Year' (0.2), and 'Bull' (0.2). NBC got similar results from encores of 'The Grinch Musical' (0.3) and 'Weakest Link' (0.3). Fox's 'Next' (0.2) held even in its move to the 8pm hour. The drama series will close out with a 2-hour series finale tonight. 'Cosmos: Possible Worlds' (0.2) wrapped up at 9, down a tenth from its last episode. The CW came in last with 'Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer' (0.1) and 'Greatest Holiday Commercials Countdown' (0.1).

Finals Update: Repeats of The Neighborhood (+0.1) and Bob Hearts Abishola (+0.1) adjusted up.

Tuesday TV Ratings 12/15/20: The Voice Finale and The Bachelorette Steady, NEXT Gets Even More Embarrassing (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: 'The Voice' (0.9) closed out an underwhelming season on NBC, steady with yesterday and up two-tenths from last week. The finale was preceded by a solid 'Voice' clip show (0.7). ABC's 'The Bachelorette' (1.0) matched what it garnered yesterday while 'Big Sky' (0.6) also tied its previous installment. CBS got little traction from a 'Play On' music special (0.3) and repeats of 'NCIS' (0.3) & 'FBI' (0.4). That was still strong enough to crush Fox's pathetic excuse of a lineup. 'Cosmos' (0.2) managed to hold even but 'Next' (0.1) somehow found itself at a new low. 'Swamp Thing' (0.1) and 'Tell Me a Story' (0.1) were steady on the CW and tied 'Next'.

Finals Update: The Bachelorette (+0.1), Cosmos: Possible Worlds (+0.1), and NEXT (+0.1) adjusted up.

Tuesday TV Ratings 12/1/20: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Strong, The Bachelorette and The Voice Slip (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: ABC's 'The Bachelorette' (1.2) inched down from its last episode but lead-out drama 'Big Sky' (0.7) remained resilient, holding steady with its premiere for the second week in a row. Elsewhere, CBS's annual broadcast of 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer' (1.1) came within striking distance of 'Bachelorette' and is the only Christmas special this year to post a 1.0 A18-49 rating or higher thus far. Despite the strength of 'Rudolph', lead-out game show 'Let's Make a Deal' (0.5) inched down from the 0.6 rating it posted on October 27th. An 'FBI: Most Wanted' repeat (0.3) closed things out. Elsewhere, NBC's 'The Voice' (0.7) took a brutal three-tenth hit, falling to a new season low in the process. The former reality juggernaut led into a 'Weakest Link' encore (0.5) and a stable edition of 'Transplant' (0.4). Fox's 'Cosmos' (0.2) fell to a new series low while 'Next' (0.2) held even. 'Swamp Thing' (0.1) and 'Tell Me a Story' (0.1) were flat on the CW.

Finals Update: 'The Voice' (+0.1), 'Let's Make a Deal Primetime Special' (+0.1), 'Cosmos: Possible Worlds' (+0.1), and repeats of 'Weakest Link' (+0.1), and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Tuesday TV Ratings 11/24/20: 400th NCIS and Big Sky Hold Steady, The Bachelorette Drops Again (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: The value of ABC's 'Big Sky' (0.7) went up dramatically in week two as the new drama held even with last week's premiere despite its 'Bachelorette' lead-in (1.2) shedding two-tenths. Needless to say, this is a major step in the right direction for the alphabet network's latest entry. Over on CBS, 'NCIS' (0.9) held even for its 400th episode while 'FBI' (0.8) lost a tenth and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.7) actually gained one. 'The Voice' (0.9) lost two-tenths on NBC while 'Transplant' (0.4) was flat at 10pm. Sandwiched in-between was a repeat of 'Weakest Link' (0.6) that managed to beat out yesterday's original episode (0.5). Fox's 'Cosmos' (0.3) matched last week's performance while drama 'Next' (0.2) inched down to a new low. The second installment of CW's 'Gilmore Girls' reboot (0.1) held steady with yesterday.

Finals Update: 'The Bachelorette' (1.3, +0.1), 'The Voice' (1.0, +0.1), 'FBI' (0.9, +0.1), and a repeat of 'The Weakest Link' (0.7, +0.1) all adjusted up.

Tuesday TV Ratings 11/17/20: Big Sky Premiere Has Weak Retention from Dropping Bachelorette, NCIS Premieres with a Series Low (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: After seven months off the air, CBS's 'NCIS' (0.9) made its return to broadcast in disappointing fashion. The seasoned drama opened its 18th season with a new series low, a far cry from the robust 1.3 rating it garnered for its September 2019 premiere and April 2020 finale. Lead-out drama 'FBI' (0.8) came in significantly behind its lockdown-boosted March finale (1.2) but was essentially on-par with its 2019 start (0.9). At the end of the lineup, 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.6) was down two-tenths from its January debut (0.8) but matched its May finale (0.6). On ABC, the series premiere of new drama 'Big Sky' (0.6) left much to be desired on a Nielsen basis. 'Sky' retained less than half of 'The Bachelorette' (1.3) audience and will likely only go down from here. 'Bachelorette' did manage to top the night but was down a sizable four-tenths from last week. NBC had a steady edition of 'The Voice' (1.1) but dramas 'This Is Us' (1.2) and 'Transplant' (0.4) each lost a tenth. Fox remained entirely uncompetitive with a stable 'Cosmos' (0.3) and declining drama 'Next' (0.2). The CW was steady with 'Swamp Thing' (0.1) and 'Tell Me a Story' (0.1).

Finals Update: The Bachelorette (+0.1), Big Sky (+0.1), FBI (+0.1) and NEXT (+0.1) adjusted up.
