Ghosted S1E4 Review

Don't you just hate it when- Oh wait, I did this last week.

FOX

S1E4 - 'Lockdown'

In this episode, the gang get trapped inside their headquarters after a monster wakes up and starts attacking people and yes, this does sound like the setup for a pretty standard monster movie.

I'm sure many of you viewers have noticed this but it seems like the writers are trying to make Max and Annie a couple. Planting the seed and letting it grow is a good idea but it just seems too early considering that Max is still married. Apart from that, I'm really glad to see Max being in action this week. Sure he messed up by tranquilizing Leroy instead of the monster but at least he tried. The Captain has that bad@ss vibe to her but so far she hasn't done anything to really show it off. The writers should give her an opportunity to do more than just issue commands.

Overall, it was a great episode. The idea of the monster was really good as well as the focus placed on the supporting characters was more than I have seen since the pilot. Maybe in another 2-3 episodes Barry can do something more than just be the comic relief.

Ghosted S1E3 Review

Don't you just hate it when a Succubus crashes your bachelor party?

FOX

S1E3 'Whispers'

In this episode, Max and Leroy are sent to Florida to investigate the case of a man whose heart was removed from his body without any incision. Meanwhile, Barry and Annie are tasked with spying on their boss's daughter. At the end of the episode, Max finally gets to meet his wife.

This episode was funnier than the last. The jokes were on point and we actually got an explanation for the paranormal scenario of the week while continuing with the main storyline of the show. Weirdly enough I liked Max more than Leroy this week. Not sure why exactly. My only problem with this episode was that Leroy got controlled by something and tried to kill Max, just like in last week's episode. My favourite part of the episode was when the boss's daughter used her friends to evade Barry and Annie.

Ghosted S1E2 Review

Don't know if it's just me but I don't think I have ever seen a zombie virus handled so quickly.

FOX

S1E2 - 'Bee-mo'

In this episode, Leroy and Max try to contain a zombie virus while also taking care of Leroy's friend's son.

The story was ok but I had a few problems with this episode:
1. As I said above, the virus was cured very quickly. Not to mention we weren't given an explanation for what the virus was exactly or how it was cured
3. It was a Halloween episode but aired on the 8th of October which felt really weird and out of place since most shows tend to air Halloween themed episodes a few days before the 31st.
2. It wasn't very funny. I barely laughed.

I know some shows tend to suffer from second episode slump so I'm not gonna give up on this show now. But if the next few episodes aren't good I'm afraid I'll be dropping this

Ghosted Pilot Review

Ghosted Pilot Review
I was never a fan of The X-Files, but I was a fan of a show inspired by it called Fringe. So when I first heard about Ghosted, I knew I had to get on the hype train. And when Adam Scott, Craig Robinson and director Jonathan Krisel came on board, I pretty much went ahead and reserved myself a seat on the hype train.

I think I may have gone a little too far with the train metaphor.

FOX

Ghosted follows the adventures of Max Jennifer and Leroy Wright as they solve crimes of paranormal nature. The first episode involves them getting captured by The Bureau Underground, a secret organization handling paranormal cases. They are brought in after one of their agents mentions them in a message before he disappeared. Max and Leroy are then offered a deal to get back their former lives in exchange for their cooperation.

One thing the show certainly has going for it is the lead actors. Adam Scott and Craig Robinson are already established comedy stars so this show is a great way to display their talents. Their chemistry and interactions between each other are the highlight of the episode. Unfortunately, that's the positive part of this review. Individually, I found Adam Scott's Max kind annoying and the rest of the characters had hardly any screen time though I'm sure that will change in future episodes. Perhaps the biggest problem for me was the pacing. Max and Leroy were introduced in their normal jobs only for a few minutes and then they were thrown smack dab into the investigation. It all felt very sudden for me. Hopefully this changes soon.

Overall, the pilot felt pretty OK to me but I feel the show definitely has potential for greatness. I'm a big fan of The Office and Parks & Recreation so seeing their stars on this show really makes me hopeful for its success.
