Thursday TV Ratings 7/16/20: 30 Rock Special Low, ABC Game Shows Drop (UPDATED)
Note: Titles highlighted in BLUE are original broadcasts. In the table, (R) = repeat.
Preliminary Analysis: Derailed by the fact that many stations refused to air it, the much-anticipated '30 Rock' special (0.4) completely tanked on NBC. This went an entire ratings point (or 71%) below what the socially-distant 'Parks & Recreation' special (1.4) managed in April. Although it had an unfair disadvantage, the feeble result does highlight that viewers may be growing tired of the low-budget/Zoom-style production that felt fresh and unique during the early days of the pandemic. The 1-hour special was followed by repeats of 'Superstore' (0.2), 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' (0.2), and 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.2). All three are expected to return in the fall with brand-new episodes but Covid-19 restrictions may complicate that.
ABC's normally steady game-show lineup sprung a leak as 'Holey Moley' (0.5) lost a tenth while 'Don't' (0.5) and 'To Tell the Truth' (0.4) slipped two-tenths. All three plummeted to new season lows by a wide margin. But the meager 0.5 rating that 'Holey' pulled was still enough to top all other programs the night had to offer. Amidst the alphabet network decline, Fox's 'Celebrity Watch Party' (0.3) and 'Labor of Love' (0.2) both matched last week. CBS's mixture of comedy and drama repeats (0.4/0.3/0.3/0.3/0.2) was not too far off from the numbers that many of the evening's originals pulled. And the CW's broadcast of British reality series 'Killer Camp' (0.1) was met with absolutely no interest. It led into repeats of 'Masters of Illusion' (0.1/0.1).
Finals Update: 30 Rock: A One-Time Special (-0.2) adjusted down.

30 Rock Special Coming to NBC July 16
NBC is reviving another one of its most acclaimed comedies for a special one-off episode. 30 Rock will return to NBC for a commercial-free, one-hour episode in one month, airing on July 16. As with the extremely successful Parks and Recreation special a few months ago, the 30 Rock special will be remotely produced and center on the Upfronts, showcasing the programs in the 2020-21 NBCUniversal season. Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jack McBrayer, Jane Krakowski and more will return to star in the special, which will also feature appearances by other stars of NBCUniversal programs. In addition to NBC, the program will also air on NBCUniversal cable networks USA, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, Syfy and CNBC, and will be released on Peacock on July 17. Over its original seven-season run, the show won 16 Emmys for NBC and was a modest performer in the ratings.
Sporcle Quizzes of the Week- Follow That Line Edition/ Sporcle Contest #10 UPDATED
Welcome to the tenth edition of the Sporcle Quizzes of the week! This is the final week of the 1st tournament. This week's edition will be featuring quizzes in the "Follow That Line" format.
1) Follow That Line: Raising Hope

I'm currently watching Raising Hope on Netflix, and I really love it so far. I wanted to feature it in the Quizzes of the Week, and this quiz is it. The creator of the quiz (who happens to be the Follow That Line curator) is extremely skilled at creating FTL quizzes, and this is probably my favorite.
Number of Questions: 24
My Score: 23
2) Follow That Line: Archer

This is another FTL quiz by Puzzgal, and it's pretty fantastic. I liked the mix of quotes from earlier and later seasons, which was a good idea.
Number of Questions: 30
My Score: 20
3) Follow That Line: 30 Rock

30 Rock is my favorite show of all time. And I surprisingly have not had a 30 Rock quiz in any edition of this series yet. I decided to change that. This was the first Follow That Line quiz that I ever played, and it made me fall in love with the format.
Number of Questions 25
My Score: 19
If you missed it, here's the unpublished quizzes edition.
And here's the Inaugural Edition.
And the qlh27 Edition.

Sporcle Quizzes of the Week- qlh27 Quizzes Edition/ Sporcle Contest #3 (UPDATED)
Welcome to another edition of Sporcle quizzes of the week! This week, I'll be showcasing quizzes that I (qlh27) created. These are my favorite of the over 100 Television quizzes that I have created.
#1 Other Shows of SNL Cast Members

This is one of my favorite quizzes I've ever created. I love SNL, and I thought that this might be a good idea for a quiz. I was lucky enough to get an Editor Pick for this quiz. I tried to include both older and newer shows, as well as some shows that ran for a long time and some that only ran for a few seasons.
# of Questions: 24
#2 Late Night Talk Show Hosts by Photo

I love late night talk shows. So I decided to create this quiz, about late night talk show hosts. I tried to include a lot of newer hosts, with more popular shows from awhile ago thrown in.
# of Questions: 25
#3 50 States of Television

I got this idea from another user's quiz about shows that took place in each state. This was a sequel to a quiz about movies, and I think that this one is better. This quiz was published by Sporcle, and it looks quite different than it initially did, so I thank Sporcle for improving it. And man, were those mid-western states hard to find shows for.
# of Questions: 50
Contest
Once again, it is time for the contest. Here's what you need to do to enter:
1) Play all three quizzes.
2) Comment your score on each quiz in the comments
On Thursday, I will post the results of the Contest.
I hope that you have enjoyed this post (And the quizzes). I'll be back in one week with yet another installment.
