NBC dramas are sinking! Specifically, new drama Lincoln Rhyme's 0.4 A18-49 rating on Friday was enough to sink it down to CW territory. There's really not that many dramas in the anemic category at the moment. Here's the overall picture of the renewal lunch table.
Sitting in the NBC renewal table are This is Us and New Amsterdam, covered for the next few seasons. The Chicago trio gets an invite to the table and occupy three spaces. Who's left? Law & Order: SVU with a 90% chance. It then gets an invite, barring any outside factors. The renewal table has at least one more spot. Right now, it leans towards Manifest, barring any more ratings declines notwithstanding. That leaves Lincoln Rhyme and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist to fend for themselves against the Cancelation Bear. And Council of Dads will enter the table after its premiere.
On the CW renewal table, you get a renewal, you get a renewal, and everyone gets a renewal. But will Katy Keene earn the next spot on the table, or will the drama be bearchow? If the CW gets ambitious, they may make room at the table. But who gets a renanceling? Will CW cancel some summer shows to make room? It will be possible.
The FOX renewal table is currently open without slots. Almost Family already became bearchow last week when it was pulled from the schedule and banished to Saturdays. 9-1-1 gets the first spot, and the rest of FOX is battling for other drama slots against new pilots. Deputy keeps falling in week 3, and is now in the toss up range along with The Resident. Which of the 55 percenters come out alive? Your guess is as good as mine. FOX still has 9-1-1: Lone Star, Filthy Rich, and neXt to premiere. 9-1-1: Lone Star joins the Scorecard next week.
The ABC renewal table has open slots, and at least four ready to be set: Grey's Anatomy, The Good Doctor, A Million Little Things, and The Rookie take four of the slots. That leaves Stumptown as the slowest out of the gate. Stumptown is going to have to fend for itself, especially after setting a new low this past week. It's more likely to be bearchow than get a place at the table at the moment. ABC has two more dramas and Station 19 coming up soon, and things could get more competitive.
CBS's renewal table has a tough bar. The steady players: NCIS, the CBS Friday lineup, SEAL Team and SWAT are guaranteed places at the table. The rest are likely to get in, except for God Friended Me. We still have another drama to premiere. Which will make it out alive: the NCIS spinoffs, All Rise, or all three? They are at 70%, but don't be surprised if at least one gets the upgrade.
