ABC's long-running Dancing with the Stars had a 1.6 in the first hour and a 1.8 in the last hour, following a super-cool 1.6/1.7/1.8/1.9 half-hour trend. Unfortunately, Castle (1.2) is continuing to struggle despite that respectable lead-in, and even managed to see a two-tenth half-hour drop. It is currently at the back of the pack in terms of ratings for ABC shows, and my guess is its swan song may be arriving shortly.
On CBS, The Big Bang Theory (3.8) continues to hold supreme, even though it dropped eight tenths from its year-ago prelim. Meanwhile, Life in Pieces (1.9) continues to hold a 50% retention rate, and although tied its performance last week, is down a full ratings point from the Big Bang Theory RERUN that aired in the time slot a year ago. My guess is that this one will not make it to Thursdays, and will either be pulled from the schedule when The Big Bang Theory moves or after a Big Bang-less Monday airing or two. Read the comments for my best midseason guess at the very moment.
On NBC, The Voice (3.0/3.4) continues to perform strong, with three of its four half-hours either even or tied with its week-ago performance. Blindspot (2.5) also managed slightly better half-hour retention this week, only dropping three tenths at 10:30 instead of five.
Finally, I would write an analysis for FOX but all there is to know is that Gotham (1.5) is slumping just as much as it was last week, and Minority Report (0.7) is still performing worse than any other Big 4 show. But at least it has settled now!
What do you think of these ratings? Agree or disagree with my analysis? Let me know in the comments and maybe it will be featured as the Comment of the Week!
