Weekly Broadcast Finals: NFL Primetime Football Up Huge Year-to-Year (Week 9)

NBC's 'Sunday Night Football' dominated a slow Thanksgiving week in the Nielsen ratings. The game averaged a massive 6.59 A18-49 rating with 21.73 million total viewers, up 11% in the demo from last year's comparable game (5.95 rating), and up 15% among total viewers (18.95 million). FOX's coverage of Thanksgiving 'Thursday Night Football' (6.11, 20.5 million) saw even better gains, up 21% in both the demo (5.07 rating), and viewership (16.91 million) from last year.

Weekly Broadcast Ratings Recap: 'The Simpsons' Has Best Week-to-Week Growth (Week 8)

All four shows in FOX's Sunday comedy line-up saw week-to-week gains in the demo. At the top of the night was 'The Simpsons' (1.63, 4.35 million) which rose 0.68 from last week, the best gain among all broadcast programs. Lead-out 'Bob's Burgers' (1.19, 2.91 million) was up 0.18, 'Rel' (0.62, 1.62 million), and 'Family Guy' (1.13, 2.66 million) ticked up 0.07.

Weekly Broadcast Finals Recap: World Series Game 5 Tops Week 5

Sunday's game 5 of the 2018 World Series (4.66, 17.7 million) took victory on the week, leading everything on broadcast, including both 'Thursday Night Football' and 'Sunday Night Football.' The series as a whole averaged a 3.69 A18-49 rating and 14.39 million viewers, the lowest demo since 2012 and the lowest viewership since 2014.
