Reruns of Celebrity Jeopardy! (0.19) and 20/20 (0.15) aired on ABC. CBS was a notch below that with encores of NCIS: Sydney (0.11/0.11) and Fire Country (0.10). Repeats of MasterChef (0.20) and The 1% Club (0.10) aired on Fox. Thursday TV Ratings 7/4/24: Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Decline from 2023, Copa America Tops the Night [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: The Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular (0.60) performed quite well on NBC, but this rating was still about a tenth below 2023's coverage (0.71). The 10 p.m. re-broadcast (0.43), however, was much closer to the repeat showing from 2023 (0.46). Fox inched past NBC in the key demo with its Copa America broadcast (0.64). Encores of AFV (0.22/0.20/0.22) made up ABC's lineup. CBS aired repeats of Young Sheldon (0.20), Ghosts (0.17), Elsbeth (0.12), and Fire Country (0.09), with each rerun declining from the previous one. Masters of Illusion (0.02, -0.03) and World's Funniest Animals (0.02, -0.03) plummeted on the CW.

Ratings Analysis: The 2023 'Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular' (0.71) soared past last year's broadcast (0.62) on NBC, posting 15% growth in the Adults 18-49 demographic. The encore showing at 10 p.m. (0.46) improved by eight-hundredths from the comparable broadcast that aired in 2022 (0.38). ABC aired repeats of 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (0.23), 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' (0.20), and 'Shark Tank' (0.19). CBS went with reruns of 'FBI' (0.21), 'FBI: International' (0.15), and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.19). Fox was not too far behind with encores of 'Beat Shazam' (0.18) and 'Don't Forget the Lyrics!' (0.17). The CW aired reruns of 'World's Funniest Animals' (0.06/0.04/0.03) all night long.

Monday TV Ratings 7/4/22: Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Hit New Low, Beat Shazam Encore Beats Out Other Repeats (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: NBC's annual showing of the 'Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular' (0.62) dipped by just 11% from last year's broadcast (0.70) in the 18-49 demographic and led into an encore presentation (0.38) that topped its respective hour. On the rerun front, Fox's 'Don't Forget the Lyrics!' (0.20) and 'Beat Shazam' (0.23) proved to be the strongest pairing. ABC's repeats of 'The Great American Tag Sale' (0.20) and 'The American Rescue Dog Show' (0.18) were close behind Fox. CBS had weaker reruns of 'The Neighborhood' (0.17), 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.16), 'NCIS' (0.17), and 'NCIS: Hawai'i' (0.18). The CW got 0.05s out of encores of 'Roswell, New Mexico' (0.05) and 'In the Dark' (0.05).
