Sunday TV Ratings 11/10/24: Yellowstone Returns Down, Tracker Soars to Series High, The Penguin Ends on a High [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: NFL-inflated episodes of 60 Minutes (1.06, +0.36) and Tracker (0.63, +0.16) excelled on CBS, but Yellowstone (0.54) was a notch below its lead-in in its return to the network. On Fox, The Simpsons (0.22, -0.71) plummeted, and Universal Basic Guys (0.22, -0.20) took a hit, but Bob's Burgers (0.25, -0.05) and Krapopolis (0.17, -0.04) were barely down at all from last week's football-boosted installments. America's Funniest Home Videos (0.32, +0.04) grew on ABC, but 1993 film Mrs. Doubtfire (0.17) was still below last week's Coco (0.18). On NBC, the Lions/Texans NFL game (4.52) dropped from the week-ago Colts/Vikings game (5.28). The Family Man (0.06) was passable by CW standards. Key: (R) = repeat.

Sunday TV Ratings 11/3/24: Fox Lineup Underperforms Last NFL Night, Tracker and The Penguin Slip, Holiday Wars Returns Lower [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: Fox had NFL Overrun (5.77) and The OT (3.76) at their disposal, but The Simpsons (0.93, +0.67) appeared oddly weak in the retention department. Universal Basic Guys (0.42, +0.23) could not even hold half of its Simpsons lead-in, while Bob's Burgers (0.30, +0.08) and Krapopolis (0.21, +0.07) were barely up at all. On CBS, 60 Minutes (0.70, -0.58) plummeted, but Tracker (0.47, -0.06) was down by a lot less, and The Equalizer (0.31, +0.01) actually ticked up. ABC's showing of the Disney film Coco (0.18) dropped considerably from the rerun of America's Funniest Home Videos (0.25) that led into it. In the 10 p.m. hour, Price of Fame: The Liam Payne Story (0.07) completely bombed. NBC's Colts/Vikings NFL game (5.28) was the top-rated broadcast of the evening. The CW went political with Bill O'Reilly's Confronting the Presidents (0.05) and then tried to appeal to the other side with Clinton: Portrait of a Presidency (0.03). Key: (R) = repeat.

Sunday TV Ratings 10/27/24: Press Your Luck Halloween Special Dismal, The Equalizer Drops, The Simpsons Rises from Last Non-NFL Night [+ Analysis]


Ratings Analysis: ABC's Press Your Luck (0.12, -0.10) struggled in its first episode in over a month, falling behind both America's Funniest Home Videos (0.28, 0.00) and Hocus Pocus 2 (0.20). On CBS, 60 Minutes (1.28, +0.77) and Tracker (0.53, +0.04) enjoyed some NFL assistance, but The Equalizer (0.30, -0.04) was actually down from last week's premiere. Fox didn't have any meaningful football help, so The Simpsons (0.26, -0.35), Universal Basic Guys (0.19, -0.90), Bob's Burgers (0.22, -0.20), and Krapopolis (0.14, -0.16) all plummeted. NBC's Cowboys/49ers NFL game (5.55) was more than a point above last week's Jets/Steelers game (4.39). The CW aired the 2015 film Goosebumps (0.06) and repeats of The Conners (0.03/0.03). Sunday TV Ratings 10/20/24: WNBA Finals Game 5 Hits Demo High for ESPN, The Equalizer Ties Low in Return, Scouting for Christmas Weak [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: Fox's animation lineup had the NFL lead-in for the night, so Universal Basic Guys (1.09, +0.90) shot back up to a rating close to that of its series debut. The Simpsons (0.61, +0.38) was demoted to 8:30 for the night but still set a new season high. As usual, the boost largely wore off by the time 9 p.m. comedies Bob's Burgers (0.42, +0.18) and Krapopolis (0.30, +0.16) rolled around. On CBS, 60 Minutes (0.51, +0.04) picked up a few ticks, while Tracker (0.49, -0.05) declined from last week's premiere. Later in the evening, The Equalizer (0.34) tied its series low in its season premiere. On NBC, the Jets/Steelers NFL game (4.39) was nearly three-tenths higher than the Bengals/Giants game from last week. America's Funniest Home Videos (0.28, +0.04) improved on ABC. Movie Hocus Pocus (0.20) and special Bruce Springsteen: Backstage and Backstreets (0.13) dipped from there. The Chosen (0.03, -0.02) slipped on the CW. Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat.

Sunday TV Ratings 10/13/24: Big Brother Soars to Season High for Finale, Tracker Returns Strong, The Penguin Continues to Rise [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: CBS's Tracker (0.54) had a strong return on Sunday night. The sophomore drama built on its 60 Minutes lead-in (0.47, -0.60) and was up noticeably from its May 2024 finale (0.46). Later in the night, Big Brother (0.73, +0.26) surged for its season finale. On Fox, an NFL-boosted MLB game (2.08) performed much better than the cartoons would have. On ABC, a special presentation of the 2023 Haunted Mansion reboot (0.19) performed slightly worse than last week's Little Mermaid (0.20). NBC's Bengals/Giants NFL game (4.10) declined from the week-ago Cowboys/Steelers game (4.68). The Chosen (0.05, +0.02) grew on the CW. Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat. (F) = finale.
