Tuesday TV Ratings 6/27/23: Daughter of the Bride Abysmal on Fox, Gotham Knights Ends on New Low, America’s Got Talent and Hot Wheels Also Slip (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: CW drama 'Gotham Knights' (0.03, -0.01) ended its run with a new series low, even as 'Superman & Lois' (0.10, +0.01) picked up a hundredth for its closer. Fox barely managed to rise above The CW's 8 p.m. offering with its broadcast of 2023 film 'Daughter of the Bride' (0.12). This rating is almost 50% lower than what the already meager 'Beat Shazam' (0.23) managed in this slot last week. On NBC, 'Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge' (0.25, -0.06) plunged to a new low in the 10 p.m. hour. 'America's Got Talent' (0.65, -0.01) shed a hundredth at 8. ABC had strong repeats of 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (0.38) and 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' (0.30), but the 10 p.m. encore of 'Claim to Fame' (0.15) could not keep up with the other two. CBS improved as the evening progressed with repeats of 'FBI: International' (0.22), 'FBI' (0.25), and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.28).

Finals Update: The repeat of 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Tuesday TV Ratings 6/20/23: America’s Got Talent Rises and Remains Dominant, Don’t Forget the Lyrics and Beat Shazam Climb Higher (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Summer staple 'America's Got Talent' (0.66, +0.03) and newcomer 'Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge' (0.31, +0.05) both made noticeable gains on NBC. 'Got Talent' was once more the highest-rated program of the night, and 'Hot Wheels' topped the 10 p.m. hour (even though its retention of 'AGT' remains below 50%). Fox's 'Beat Shazam' (0.23, +0.06) enjoyed a healthy rebound after taking a nosedive last week. 'Don't Forget the Lyrics!' (0.23, +0.01) picked up a hundredth in the 9 p.m. hour. ABC had a strong trio of reruns, with 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (0.36), 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' (0.26), and 'Shark Tank' (0.25) all delivering solid results. CBS aired repeats of 'FBI' (0.28), 'FBI: International' (0.21), and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.22). 'Superman & Lois' (0.09, +0.01) picked up a hundredth on the CW, but 'Gotham Knights' (0.04, 0.00) only managed to tie its last original.

Finals Update: 'America's Got Talent' (+0.1) adjusted up, as did repeats of 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (+0.1) and 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' (+0.1).

The CW Cancels Gotham Knights After One Season

The CW is parting ways with its newest show, canceling Gotham Knights after a single thirteen-episode season. The freshman comic series was one of three DC superhero shows on the network this season, along with Superman & Lois and The Flash. Only one will return next season, solidifying the network's move away from DC-related programming after making these shows a signature part of their brand for years. Its 0.09 average was among the higher scripted entries on the network this season, but the show was too expensive to survive amid the network's acquisition by Nexstar. Olivia Rose Keegan, Navia Robinson, Oscar Morgan, Fallon Smythe and Misha Collins starred in the series, which will wrap its run at the end of June. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.

Tuesday TV Ratings 6/6/23: The Freedom to Exist Special Weak, Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge Slips, AGT and Beat Shazam Rise (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: ABC tried their luck with another 'Soul of a Nation' special, but the results did not improve. Focusing on the transgender community, 'The Freedom to Exist' (0.18) was two-hundredths lower than the Asian-based 'The New Face of Hollywood' (0.20) and went well below the reruns of 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (0.39) and 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' (0.31) that preceded it. NBC's 'America's Got Talent' (0.68, +0.03) grew by three-hundredths from its premiere, but 'Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge' (0.30, -0.03) declined by that same amount. On Fox, 'Beat Shazam' (0.26, +0.07) and 'Don't Forget the Lyrics!' (0.25, +0.05) climbed to new season highs. CW dramas 'Superman & Lois' (0.08, -0.04) and 'Gotham Knights' (0.04, -0.03) went in the opposite direction. CBS chugged along with repeats of 'FBI' (0.26), 'FBI: International' (0.24), and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.23).

Finals Update: 'America's Got Talent' (+0.1) and the repeat of 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (+0.1) adjusted up.
