Yellowstone Renewed for Season 3
Right before season 2 premiered, Paramount Network renewed the Kevin Costner-starred Yellowstone for a third season.
Last night's episode scored a 0.45 in the key Adults 18-49 demo, and led Wednesday cable. For Paramount, this is a massive win.

Kevin Kay, now former president of Paramount Network, CMT, and TV Land, stepped down in October after 25 years with Viacom, in a recent restructuring of the cable networks into four brands, down from six when Bob Bakish took over as CEO, and from five in another past restructuring.
Originally, eight scripted shows were supposed to be airing on Paramount for 2019. Now that berth has been reduced to only three shows: Yellowstone, Emily in Paris, and TV Land import Younger. First Wives Club moved to BET, and we are starting speculation. Obviously, the network is struggling outside of Yellowstone, Bar Rescue, and Ink Master. All 3 shows regularly pulled 0.2-0.3 ratings (Yellowstone had ratings in the 0.3-0.4 range and was the highest rated show on Paramount). Even mini-series Waco regularly hit 0.3-0.4 ratings during its run. Could Paramount be getting out of the scripted arena? My guess is probably not, since most of their unscripted lineup is pulling 0.1s right now. If new president Kent Alterman wants to clean house, COPS might be in some danger, and the Ink Master spinoff Ink Master: Angels will likely be. Plus, Lip Sync Battle may be in danger next season as well. But with all indications as it stands right now, that may not be the case. But we'll keep an eye on Paramount if anything changes.

FXX only has one show in development, but other than that, odds are that it's the favorite to get out of the scripted business.
Folks, I have a poll to the Cable Renew/Cancel conundrum. I've updated this to include Paramount in the thing. Vote early, vote often.
Cable Renew/Cancel: Paramount, TV Land, FXX - No Salvation for Heathers
Welcome to Cable Renew/Cancel for Paramount Network, TV Land, and FXX. In this installment, the initial prediction for Heathers is here, plus other Paramount Network shows.
Heathers: There's a lot of things that may remain unsaid about the lowest rated show on Paramount's lineup. But a 0.05 and a 0.03 in the key demographic, as well as burnoff scheduling on consecutive nights does not signal confidence in the show. Ratings at this level is what got now canceled Nobodies pulled from the Paramount schedule and moved back to TV Land. Plus, with all the scripted development ramping up at Paramount since Yellowstone's success and Younger's move to the network from TV Land, there definitely is no room for the reboot. In addition, this was a show that Paramount scrapped plus tried to get buyers for before it inexplicably ended up returning due to the school shootings that happened earlier this year. With that being said, Heathers is certain to be canceled, and there's no salvation for it either.
Ink Master: Three weeks of solid ratings keeps the show at a certain renewal status. There is no way Paramount would cancel it at its current levels.

Ink Master: Ink Master returned to solid ratings for Paramount Network to a 0.31, and dropped in week 2 to a still solid 0.24 in the key adults 18-49 demographic. That does not bring concern for the show itself as it is still one of the top 3 shows on the network. That is enough for "certain renewal".
Younger: The show will move to Paramount Network for the upcoming season as part of the new Thursday night dramedy lineup. See the TV Land table for more details.

Teachers: This will bring a memento mori to the series in the wake of Younger's move to Paramount Network. This move does not bode well for the show as it looks like TV Land will get out of the scripted business. It is now a "certain cancelation".

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: The highest rated show on FXX returned up from the previous season with a 0.39. So fans of this show need not worry anytime soon, as we are waiting on the next two season renewal. Otherwise, things are quiet on FXX.
