Alert and The Cleaning Lady Canceled by Fox

It's a cruel summer on Fox, with the network canceling both of their Tuesday spring dramas today on the heels of their recent finales. Alert, which ended its third season last week, and The Cleaning Lady, which aired its season four finale this Tuesday, have both been canceled by Fox. The network delayed making decisions on the series at their upfronts last month, when most pickups and cancellations would typically be announced by, waiting to announce the bad news about both series until after their runs ended. Both series were among the lowest-rated shows on Fox - and all of broadcast TV, each averaging 0.13 in the key 18-49 demo this season. That's not far off from the previous seasons, when they were both given suprirrisng renewals in spite of their poor ratings. The factors that allowed them to survive last season weren't enough this time around. The Cleaning Lady's cancellation is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide, while Alert is a miss.

Tuesday TV Ratings 5/27/25: Destination X Debuts Respectably, America’s Got Talent Returns Slightly Lower, Alert Rises for Finale [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: In its NBC season premiere, America's Got Talent (0.41) was just 9% below last year's start (0.45) and outpaced all other broadcast offerings. At ten, Destination X (0.25) had a fairly respectable debut. On ABC, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (0.25, -0.01) inched down, while Jeopardy! Masters (0.22, +0.01) ticked up. CBS aired repeats of FBI (0.21), FBI: International (0.19), and FBI: Most Wanted (0.18). On Fox, Alert: Missing Persons Unit (0.15, +0.02) gained some momentum on finale night, but The Cleaning Lady (0.14, -0.01) declined at eight. WWE NXT (0.14, +0.01) gained a hundredth on the CW. Key: (P) = premiere. Tuesday TV Ratings 5/20/25: FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted Rise for Series Finales, Jeopardy! Masters and The Cleaning Lady Also Rise, NBA Playoffs Dominate [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: Two CBS dramas, FBI: International (0.32, +0.03) and FBI: Most Wanted (0.28, +0.02), aired their final episodes on Tuesday night, and both were up from last week. At eight, the original FBI (0.35, 0.00) held steady for its season closer. NBC's The Voice (0.29, +0.08) beat its week-ago installment for its own finale. Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (0.26, 0.00) tied its last episode on ABC, while Jeopardy! Masters (0.24, +0.05) enjoyed some noticeable growth. The Cleaning Lady (0.15, +0.04) and Alert (0.13, +0.01) both rose on Fox. WWE NXT (0.13, -0.02) dipped on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat. Ratings Analysis: ABC dramas Will Trent (0.33, +0.05) and The Rookie (0.29, +0.02) were up for their respective finales, while Bad Romance (0.08) posted an absolutely dreadful rating at ten. The Cleaning Lady (0.11, -0.03) slipped on Fox, but Alert: Missing Persons Unit (0.12, +0.02) grew from there. The Voice (0.21) remained low on NBC, and a 10 p.m. Joan Rivers special (0.15) did not impress. CBS dramas FBI (0.35, +0.05), FBI: International (0.29, +0.04), and FBI: Most Wanted (0.26, +0.02) all rose. Ratings Analysis: The Night Court finale (0.20/0.18) underwhelmed on NBC, but the series did avoid setting a new low on its way out. On CBS, FBI (0.30, -0.05) and FBI: International (0.25, -0.01) dropped, but FBI: Most Wanted (0.24, 0.00) was steady at ten. On ABC, Will Trent (0.28, 0.00) matched its last installment, The Rookie (0.27, +0.07) surged, and Bad Romance (0.11, -0.03) slipped.
