ABC is leaving the Last Frontier, canceling Alaska Daily after a single season. The journalism drama, a star vehicle for Oscar winner Hilary Swank, aired Thursdays at 10 behind Grey's Anatomy, and rated as one of ABC's lowest-performing shows, rating above only A Million Little Things with a 0.23 average in the key 18-49 demographic. ABC bragged about the streaming performance of the show's premiere, but its performance there was not enough to make up for its extremely low ratings. The show garnered positive critical reception for ABC, including a Golden Globe nomination for Swank, who starred alongside Jeff Perry, Grace Dove, Meredith Holtzman and Matt Malloy. The show wrapped its eleven-episode first and final season at the end of March. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.
