The Punisher & Jessica Jones Canceled by Netflix

Netflix and Marvel's divorce has been finalized. The streaming giant has canceled both of its remaining dramas based on Netflix properties, ending their relationship with the comics empire. The writing's been on the wall for these shows, as Netflix has rapidly pushed out all other Marvel shows over the last few months. Jessica Jones has the distinction of the first show canceled before it aired its upcoming season. All other axed Marvel shows aired their seasons before they were axed. This is also the first joint cancellation of two Marvel series, as the others all got individual announcements. The series were reportedly all strong performers for Netflix, but Netflix seems intent on moving away from its Marvel relationship as Disney prepares to launch a new streaming service, Disney+, which will include original content from Marvel.

Jessica Jones Renewed for Third Season

Netflix's relationship with Marvel continues to flourish, with Jessica Jones the latest Marvel series that has received good news from the streaming giant. The comic book series premiered its second season in March 2018 and has already been renewed for a third run. This isn't a very surprising choice, as the show has been very buzzy on social media and has seemingly done very well for Netflix. Krysten Ritter stars as the titular Jessica Jones, with Mike Colter and Rachael Taylor also starring. It is unknown when the season will premiere, but fans may be in for a long wait considering the over two-year-long wait between seasons one and two.
