Friday TV Ratings 9/30/22: The Price Is Right At Night Well Below Average, Shark Tank Hits New Low, WWE SmackDown Leads (Again) (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: CBS's latest installment of 'The Price Is Right At Night' (0.32) was nearly 50% below the last edition from April (0.61) and only managed to secure the third-place spot in the 8PM timeslot. The 9PM rerun of 'SWAT' (0.21) improved markedly from the week-ago 'Secret Celebrity Renovation' finale (0.14) and helped boost the 10PM repeat of 'Blue Bloods' (0.24). On ABC, both 'Shark Tank' (0.42, -0.06) and '20/20' (0.31, -0.01) descended to new lows. 'Capital One College Bowl' (0.25, +0.03) and 'Dateline' (0.35, +0.02) picked up a few hundredths apiece on NBC. In rather unsurprising news, Fox's 'WWE Smackdown' (0.54, -0.09) was the highest-rated program of the night, even as it lost nearly a full tenth from last week's telecast. The CW was content with airing encores of 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.04) and 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.06/0.07).

Friday TV Ratings 5/21/21: Shark Tank Ends Steady, Dick Van Dyke Show Special Weak, WWE SmackDown Ties for First (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Following last week's disappointing performance, Fox's 'WWE Smackdown' (0.5) got back a tenth and pulled into a tie with ABC's 'Shark Tank' finale (0.5). Later in the alphabet network's evening, '20/20' (0.4) matched its previous broadcast. CBS's 'Dick Van Dyke Show' special (0.2) failed to draw in viewers but was on-par with the equally anemic Queen Elizabeth special from the week prior. 'The Blacklist' (0.3) and 'Dateline' (0.4) were flat on NBC, as were the CW's 'Charmed' (0.1) and 'Dynasty' (0.1).

Finals Update: 'Shark Tank' (0.6, +0.1), '20/20' (0.5, +0.1), 'The Blacklist' (0.4, +0.1), and the 'Dick Van Dyke' special (0.3, +0.1) adjusted up. 'Dynasty' (0.0, -0.1) adjusted down. 

Friday TV Ratings 4/16/21: Shark Tank Slides but Tied with Blue Bloods in First, WWE SmackDown and MacGyver Also Down (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: A two-tenth decline from ABC's 'Shark Tank' (0.6) and a one-tenth rise from CBS's 'Blue Bloods' (0.6) put the two shows back into a tie for the top spot. Preceding 'Blue Bloods', 'MacGyver' (0.4) shed a tenth at 8 while 'Magnum PI' (0.5) held even in the 9pm slot. 'Shark Tank' was followed by a stable '20/20' (0.5). Over on Fox, 'WWE Smackdown' (0.5) inched down from last week. NBC's 'The Blacklist' (0.3) lost a tick but its 'Dateline' lead-out (0.4) grew from there. The CW had the steady season finales of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway' (0.1) and 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.1). A repeat of 'Whose Line' (0.1) was sandwiched in-between.

Friday TV Ratings 2/26/21: Shark Tank Holds Steady in First, The Blacklist Slips (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: To the surprise of no one, ABC's 'Shark Tank' (0.7) led the way on another uninteresting Friday night. The reality series was steady once more but 10pm companion '20/20' (0.6) actually rose a tenth. On Fox, 'WWE Smackdown' (0.5) lost a tenth but beat out all non-ABC broadcasts. 'The Blacklist' (0.3) inched down on NBC as 'Dateline' (0.3) held even with Thursday's performance. CBS was slightly stronger than the peacock network despite being in repeat-mode with 'MacGyver' (0.3), 'Magnum PI' (0.4), and 'Blue Bloods' (0.3). 'Whose Line Is It Anyway' (0.1) shed a tenth on the CW while 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.1) remained steady.

Friday TV Ratings 1/29/21: 20/20 Slips Behind Shark Tank Repeat, WWE SmackDown Leads (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: With ABC's 'Shark Tank' (0.5) in repeat-mode and an original '20/20' (0.4) crumbling due to the reduced lead-in, a steady 'WWE Smackdown' (0.6) was able to lead Fox to a rare Friday-night win. NBC had stable editions of recently-renewed 'The Blacklist' (0.4) and 'Dateline' (0.4). CBS was entirely in reruns with 'MacGyver' (0.3), 'Magnum PI' (0.3), and 'Blue Bloods' (0.4). The CW went with another batch of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.2/0.2) and 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.1).
