’Westworld’ Renewed For Season 4 By HBO

The acclaimed series will live to see another day.

Amidst the COVID-19 shutdown, HBO has renewed sci-fi drama Westworld for a fourth season. The series premiered on October 2, 2016 to Nielsen ratings success, posting a 0.77 rating for its debut and closing out its first season with a strong 1.0. Its numbers were phenomenal for cable television but would have been perfectly solid even by broadcast standards. Although the current season of Westworld is a lot less successful in that department, hovering around the 0.2 vicinity, its ratings remain respectable for the Warner Media network.

Based on the 70's film starring Yul Brynner and James Brolin, the dystopian drama centers on a Wild West-based theme park where visitors can come to live out their fantasies. Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan created Westworld while Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, and James Marsden make up the main cast. As of April 22, 2020, Westworld has accumulated a total of twenty-six episodes. Below are the Nielsen ratings for the third and most current season of the drama. Click here to keep track of the program's ratings as it continues to air out its remaining episodes on HBO.

Westworld Renewed for Season 3 by HBO

HBO's going back to the futureat least one more time. Robot western Westworld has been been renewed for a third season, just two weeks into its second. This comes as a surprise to absolutely nobody, as the series is currently averaging 0.81 for those two epsiodes, down just 1% despite its lengthy wait between seasons. The series has a large cast, led be Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Ed Harris, Angela Sarafyan, and Anthony Hopkins. The series has received acclaim in both seasons, and has garnered 22 Emmy nominations for its first season, resulting in five statues. Below are the full ratings for Westworld's second outing.

Westworld, Divorce, and Insecure Renewed for Second Seasons by HBO

HBO has renewed their freshman series Westworld, Divorce, and Insecure for second seasons. Westworld's renewal was a no-brainer, as it has performed well for HBO. Divorce and Insecure have not performed even close to as well as Westworld has in same day ratings, but have reportedly done well on other platforms. This marks one correct prediction and two incorrect predictions for the TV Ratings Guide.
