College Football was just about the only show in town this Saturday, with both Fox and ABC getting in the football spirit. Fox's broadcast of the Toledo/Ohio State game (0.74) topped the night, rating well above most of this summer's Saturday MLB games, including last week's (0.36). ABC's game trailed, but still rated well, with the Michigan State/Wisconsin game (0.58) rating a tenth-and-a-half behind Fox's broadcast after a healthy two-tenth adjustment. This was a bit behind last week's 0.65 rating, but that's not a terrible shock given the stronger competition. The other networks were mostly in repeat mode, though CBS did feature the return of veteran crime newsmagazine 48 Hours (0.23) at 10. It was a middling showing for the venerable Saturday staple, but it did tie its May finale, showing this may be par for the course for the show going forward. It was preceded by repeats of FBI: Most Wanted (0.18) and a repeat of itself (0.16) that weren't all that much lower. NBC had similarly-rated repeats, with America's Got Talent (0.19) and Dateline NBC (0.21) both dead even with last Saturday's encores. The CW continued its favorite Saturday tradition of mixing repeats and originals, with the finale of Masters of Illusion (0.04) and its repeat (0.03) both flatlining after an encore of Great Chocolate Showdown (0.06).
Finals Update: College Football: MI St. v. WI (+0.2) and the repeat of 48 Hours (+0.1) adjusted up. Masters of Illusion (-0.1) adjusted down.
