Kevin Kay, now former president of Paramount Network, CMT, and TV Land, stepped down in October after 25 years with Viacom, in a recent restructuring of the cable networks into four brands, down from six when Bob Bakish took over as CEO, and from five in another past restructuring.
Originally, eight scripted shows were supposed to be airing on Paramount for 2019. Now that berth has been reduced to only three shows: Yellowstone, Emily in Paris, and TV Land import Younger. First Wives Club moved to BET, and we are starting speculation. Obviously, the network is struggling outside of Yellowstone, Bar Rescue, and Ink Master. All 3 shows regularly pulled 0.2-0.3 ratings (Yellowstone had ratings in the 0.3-0.4 range and was the highest rated show on Paramount). Even mini-series Waco regularly hit 0.3-0.4 ratings during its run. Could Paramount be getting out of the scripted arena? My guess is probably not, since most of their unscripted lineup is pulling 0.1s right now. If new president Kent Alterman wants to clean house, COPS might be in some danger, and the Ink Master spinoff Ink Master: Angels will likely be. Plus, Lip Sync Battle may be in danger next season as well. But with all indications as it stands right now, that may not be the case. But we'll keep an eye on Paramount if anything changes.

FXX only has one show in development, but other than that, odds are that it's the favorite to get out of the scripted business.
Folks, I have a poll to the Cable Renew/Cancel conundrum. I've updated this to include Paramount in the thing. Vote early, vote often.
