Saturday TV Ratings 7/9/22: Superstar Racing Experience and Transplant Remain Low, MLB Ticks Up (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: 'MLB Regional Coverage' (0.49) was over 50% higher than last week's telecast (0.32) on Fox and more than doubled its nearest competitor. ABC had passable reruns of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.23) and 'Generation Gap' (0.21), but 'The Rookie' (0.11) looked particularly faint in the 10PM hour. CBS's 'Superstar Racing Experience' (0.11) dropped by a hundredth and lost to the '48 Hours' rerun (0.12) that followed it. NBC's drama offering 'Transplant' (0.11, +0.02) grew by two-hundredths but still trailed the 9PM 'Dateline' encore (0.21). On the CW, 'Would I Lie To You?' (0.03, -0.01) lost a hundredth and lagged behind the repeat of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.05) that led into it. At 9, 'Masters of Illusion' (0.03, 0.00) held flat and lost out to a 9:30PM repeat of itself (0.04).

Finals Update: 'MLB Regional Coverage' (+0.2) adjusted up.

Saturday TV Ratings 6/25/22: Superstar Racing Experience and USFL Very Low, MLB Tops Quiet Night (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: After losing out to the 'Stanley Cup' last week, Fox's 'MLB Regional Coverage (0.34) picked up four-hundredths and was back to topping Saturday night. ABC had its usual rerun trio of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.25), 'Shark Tank' (0.21), and 'The Rookie' (0.12). NBC got nothing out of the 'Breakers v. Stallions' USFL game (0.17) but still bested CBS's feeble 'Superstar Racing Experience' (0.14). A repeat of '48 Hours' (0.13) went even lower in the 10PM hour. 'Would I Lie to You? (0.04, -0.01) ticked down on the CW while 'Masters of Illusion' (0.03, 0.00) held flat. As usual, the 8PM encore of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.07) outperformed the originals. The 9:30PM 'Masters of Illusion' repeat (0.03) tied the new episode that aired at 9.

Finals Update: 'MLB Regional Coverage' (+0.1) and 'USFL: Breakers v. Stallions' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Saturday TV Ratings 6/18/22: Stanley Cup Drops in Game 2, Transplant Nears Season High, Superstar Racing Experience Low (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Game 2 of the 2022 'Stanley Cup Finals' (1.11, -0.22) was a little more than two-tenths below Wednesday's broadcast of the first game (1.33) but still gave ABC the upper-hand over the other networks. Fox's 'MLB Regional Coverage' (0.30) took a distant second-place and ended up being seven-hundredths lower than last week's broadcast. On NBC, 'Transplant' (0.20, +0.11) soared to its highest rating in over two months but was still bested by the 'Dateline' rerun (0.28) that followed it. 'Superstar Racing Experience' (0.14) and a '48 Hours' rerun (0.13) failed to make much of a dent on CBS. 'Would I Lie To You?' (0.05, +0.01) and 'Masters of Illusion' (0.03, +0.01) both got a hundredth back on the CW. 'Masters' was beaten by a 9:30PM repeat of itself (0.04) while 'Lie' was put to shame by an 8PM encore of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.07).

Finals Update: 'Stanley Cup Game 2' (+0.5), 'MLB Regional Coverage' (+0.1), and the repeat of 'Dateline NBC' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Saturday TV Ratings 6/11/22: Despicable Me 3 Mediocre In Broadcast Debut, MLB Leads Once More on Low-Rated Night (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Illumination film 'Despicable Me 3' (0.23) made its debut on broadcast television in incredibly mediocre fashion. Though this was over 150% higher than last week's 'Transplant' (0.09), the animated feature was embarrassingly outpaced a 10PM rerun of 'Dateline' (0.25). Fox's 'MLB Regional Coverage' (0.37) went four-hundredths higher than the week-ago broadcast and led the network to yet another Saturday evening victory. ABC began the night with a solid 'America's Funniest Home Videos' rerun (0.25), but subsequent repeats of 'Shark Tank' (0.20) and 'The Rookie' (0.12) tapered off from there. CBS's underwhelming reruns of 'NCIS: LA' (0.14), 'SWAT' (0.18), and '48 Hours' (0.17) could not hold a candle to the alphabet network's 'AFV' repeat. On the CW, 'Would I Lie To You?' (0.04, -0.01) took a small hit while 'Masters of Illusion' (0.02, -0.03) suffered another deadly blow. 'Masters' led into a repeat of itself (0.02) that fully retained that feeble rating. The 8PM 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' encore (0.07) once again bested everything else on the network.

Finals Update: 'MLB Regional Coverage' (+0.2) and the repeat of '48 Hours' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Saturday TV Ratings 6/4/22: MLB Tops Pitiful Night, Party at the Palace Passable, Transplant Goes Even Lower (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Fox's 'MLB Regional Coverage' (0.33) posted the same rating as last Saturday and was once again the highest-rated broadcast of the evening. ABC had a 'Party at the Palace' special (0.29) that was close behind 'MLB' and a rerun of 'The Rookie' (0.18) that slipped noticeably from there. CBS aired a rerun of canceled drama 'Bull' (0.11) and had encores of '48 Hours' (0.12/0.21). After bombing on arrival, NBC series 'Transplant' (0.09, -0.03) dropped to yet another new low. At 9, a repeat of 'Dateline' (0.24) went nearly 3x higher than its lead-in. 'Would I Lie To You?' (0.05, -0.01) and 'Masters of Illusion' (0.05, -0.04) declined on the CW, with 'Masters' taking a much bigger hit than 'Lie'. An 8PM rerun of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.07) bested the originals while the 9:30PM 'Masters' encore (0.05) was on-par with the new episodes.

Finals Update: 'MLB Regional Coverage' (+0.1) adjusted up.
