Saturday TV Ratings 6/20/20: The Last Dance Finale Repeat Hits Low, Dateline Leads (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: On a Saturday night packed to the brim with repeats, NBC's 'Dateline' (0.4) encore effortlessly topped the night. The news-magazine staple led into a 2012 edition of 'SNL Vintage' (0.3). Although it was low-rated by normal standards, it looked pretty solid in comparison to the offerings the other networks had. CBS had repeats of 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.2) and '48 Hours' (0.2/0.3). ABC was even with 'Last Dance' (0.2) repeats but 'The Rookie' repeat (0.1) after it had a particularly ghastly showing. Fox had dismal '24 Hours' (0.2) and 'Lego Masters' (0.1) encores.

Finals Update: Repeats of Dateline NBC (-0.1) and the finale of The Last Dance (-0.1) adjusted down.

Saturday TV Ratings 6/13/20: SNL Vintage Down, Dateline NBC Leads (UPDATED)

It was another low Saturday for the books, but there were some mild upticks to be found.

NBC won the night with a meager 0.3 average. A Dateline encore drew a 0.3 to start, up a tenth from last week's IndyCar. A 9 PM Dateline drew a 0.4 and was the top show of the night. At 10, SNL Vintage was actually vintage, with a 1976 episode hosted by Madeline Kahn drawing a 0.3, steady with last week.

CBS was second, with NCIS: New Orleans and 48 Hours repeats at 8 and 9 both attracting just 0.2, followed by a 0.3 48 Hours repeat at 10. Yes, that really was enough for a second place finish.

ABC had 0.2s all night with another double helping of The Last Dance from 8-10 and a 10 PM Rookie repeat.

Fox finally left 0.1 for Saturday, with a 24 Hours to Hell and Back repeat going all the way to 0.2! At 10, a LEGO Masters repeat was down to that classic Fox Saturday 0.1.

Finals Update: SNL Vintage (-0.1) adjusted down.

Saturday TV Ratings 6/6/20: IndyCar Modest, 10 PM Shows Share Victory (UPDATED)

It was a silent Saturday night, with a three-way tie for first and 0.3 being the top program of the night.

NBC had an IndyCar race with very little interest at 8, with only a 0.2 for the event. At 10, a non-vintage SNL Vintage drew a higher 0.3, up a tenth from last week's heavily preempted 0.2.

Having aired only one episode of it last week, ABC had three episodes of The Last Dance this time around. It matched the 0.2 from last week for the first two hours and rose to a 0.3 at 10, tying for the lead.

CBS had crime drama repeats at 8 and 9 at 0.2, followed by 48 Hours at 10. 48 Hours tied for first for the night with 0.3, completing a trifecta of 10 PM 0.3s.

Fox continued its Saturday tradition of pathetic ratings, with PBA Bowling and a LEGO Masters repeat both well below a million viewers and at 0.1.

Finals Update: All shows held their preliminary ratings.

Saturday TV Ratings 5/30/20: Despicable Me 2, The Last Dance and 48 Hours Lead on Preempted Night (UPDATED)

On a night with heavy preemptions due to protest coverage, a 0.3 was all it took to lead the night.

Despicable Me 2 was one of the few programs of the day that was not a repeat of a weekly series. The film drew a 0.3 and tied for first for the night. Behind it, a heavily preempted SNL Vintage hosted by Charles Barkley was down to 0.2.

ABC had a repeat of The Last Dance at 8 with a 0.3, followed by a 0.3 for their nationwide special report on the protests in response to George Floyd's murder. It also drew 0.3, enough to give ABC the nightly win.

CBS had a weaker night with 0.2 repeats of Game On! and 48 Hours, followed by an original (?) episode of 48 Hours at 10. The 10 PM hour was the only one to hit 0.3.

Fox had repeats of Flirty Dancing and LEGO Masters. Nobody cared.

Finals Update: Despicable Me 2 (-0.2), SNL Vintage (-0.2) and repeats of The Last Dance (-0.3), Game On! (-0.2), 48 Hours (-0.2), Flirty Dancing (-0.1) and LEGO Masters (-0.1) adjusted down.

Saturday TV Ratings 5/23/20: SNL Vintage with Fred Willard Down but Still Ties The Secret Life of Pets and 48 Hours for the Win (UPDATED)

One week after the Graduate Together special featuring an appearance by former President Obama drew a combined 1.4 on broadcast, the networks this week struggled to even scrape a 0.3 together.

NBC somehow won the night with just a 0.3 average. They kicked off their night with The Secret Life of Pets at 8, which drew 0.3s for both of its hours. The animated flick was a box office blockbuster, and though these ratings aren't exactly massive, it's still enough to give it the win. At 10, SNL paid tribute to the late, great Fred Willard with an SNL Vintage episode hosted by him from 1978. It drew a 0.3, allowing it to also tie for #1.

The Last Dance is the #1 new show of the season for ESPN, but that magic didn't rub off on ABC. They aired repeats of it from 8 to 10 last night, but it seems like everyone that's already wanted to see it has already seen it with just a 0.2 at 8. Nevertheless, the uptick at 9 was enough to also let it tie for #1 for the night. A repeat of The Rookie at 10 was down to 0.2.

CBS had a shockingly horrific repeat of MacGyver at 0.1 and grew from there, with Magnum PI at 0.2 and 48 Hours at 0.3.

Fox repeated two of the biggest bombs in history, the canceled (?) Flirty Dancing and the just-premiered Labor of Love, to expectedly disastrous results. At least they didn't hit the Blutarsky.

Finals Update: All shows held their preliminary ratings.
