I Feel Bad Canceled by NBC

NBC has unsurprisingly axed freshman comedy I Feel Bad after one season. The show was one of the lowest-rated new shows on broadcast this season with a season average of just 0.57, which was boosted by a double-episode post-AGT airing. The last two episodes of the show were burned off in late December, which dashed all hopes the show had for renewal. Sarayu Blue, Madhur Jaffrey, PAul Adelstein, and Brian George starred in the series. This was a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.

Abby's: The lowest-rated sitcom on all of the big 4 somehow fell even lower last week with a barely-there 0.3. Even given the 0.5 lead-in it has to endure, that's one of the most pathetic performances I've ever seen from any show. Even NBC won't renew something performing that poorly, even with their history of renewing midseason flop comedies. It's now a CERTAIN CANCELLATION. Odds of renewal: 1%

AP Bio: A questionable renewal in the first place, AP Bio is performing even worse this time around. It was at least steady all season, before it finally hit 0.4 last week. That 0.4 didn't magically change its future, because it was always pretty dead. If it has an episode count of more than 9 episodes this season, it'll already spill over into Summer, so it's already apparent that the ratings won't get prettier from here. I find it hard to imagine that NBC will give it another shot, especially when the huge amount of promotion this season didn't do anything for it this time. Odds of renewal: 5%

Blindspot: NBC pulled this low-rated veteran from its schedule for the remainder of May Sweeps, opting to burn off the remaining three episodes of the show after the season is officially done. It's painfully clear that NBC is done with the show and has absolutely no intention of granting it another season, not even a short one. I'm dropping it to a CERTAIN CANCELLATION. Odds of renewal: 0%

The Enemy Within: Despite a somewhat-promising start, this new drama has absolutely collapsed and is now one of NBC's worst-performing 10 PM dramas. Unlike Good Girls, this bomb doesn't even have a huge Netflix deal to help it across the finish line. NBC has generally been more lenient than other networks when it comes to newbies, but I doubt that a show doing this poorly in such a good slot will be back. Odds of renewal: 25%

I Feel Bad: It's long been known that this show is dead. Not getting a backorder was telling enough, but NBC also went and burned off the last episodes of its first season in late December. You can't blame them for that. It was an absolute, indisputable bomb, falling almost as low as Abby's even before the burnoff. There's no way it comes back. Odds of renewal: 0%

Saturday Night Live: The longest-running scripted program on the NBC lineup is also one of their highest-rated, even though it airs at 11:30 on a Saturday. There isn't much to say about it that I haven't already said. Odds of renewal: 100%

This Is Us: The only surprising thing about this show's inevitable renewal is that it's taken so long. Odds of renewal: 100%

The Village: It's been a wild season for NBC's midseason Tuesday drama, as it has aired in three different times lots with just seven episodes aired so far. It hasn't done well in any of those timeslots. It bombed at 10 behind This Is Us, did just as poorly at 9 after The Voice (while simultaneously dragging down New Amsterdam), and is doing poorly at 8, too. NBC has given this show many chances, and gave it two strong lead-ins, and never has it show anything resembling potential. I see very little reason for NBC to renew this flop. Odds of renewal: 15%

Saturday Night Live: I haven't talked about SNL this season, but now seems like a good time. The long-running comedy series is one of the highest-rated shows on NBC this season, with its recent, Matt Damon-hosted episode scoring a 2.0. It could be doing half of that and still coast to a renewal, but it's not just getting by. It's thriving, and it's a certain renewal. It will be a merry Christmas indeed for the folks at SNL.

I Feel Bad: Unlike SNL, I've talked way too much about this show, considering that only about 12 people in the US actually watch it. That's an exaggeration, but it is incredibly low-rated. 0.4 now seems to be its ceiling, as it's hit that number for each of the last three episodes. Even in an earlier timeslot, it remained low-rated. Its December 27 burnoff finale will be the last time it's seen by anyone. It's a certain cancellation.

Manifest: This show is doing very well for its timeslot, but I've held off on upping it to a certain renewal. I'm still not ready to upgrade it, because I would like to see how it performs without The Voice. It's probably still going to have a large lead-in with AGT: The Champions, but Manifest has shows signs of wear and tear all season and it's fallen pretty consistently all year. We'll see if it can hold up with a lead-in change and a few months off. It stays a likely renewal for now.

The Good Place: Since our last update, The Good Place was renewed. This was a correct prediction, as we've had the show listed as a certain renewal since September.

What do you think of these predictions? Which shows do you think will get coal in their stocking? Let me know in the comments below and don't forget to vote in the poll of the week!
