Ratings Analysis: Reality-competition series The Summit (0.32) disappointed in its CBS debut and dropped massively from an NFL-inflated 60 Minutes (1.07, +0.63). Big Brother (0.34, -0.14) tried its best to grow from Summit at 10:30 but was still down markedly from last week. Fox did not have any football help, but The Simpsons (0.33) still looked relatively healthy in its season 36 premiere. To put things into perspective, this rating more than doubles that of its May season finale (0.14). As usual, the good news came to a screeching halt at 8:30, this time because Universal Basic Guys (0.19, -0.20) dropped dramatically from its Simpsons lead-in. From there, Bob's Burgers (0.20) barely beat out Guys, and Krapopolis (0.16) made the move to 9:30 in lackluster fashion. On NBC, the Bills/Ravens NFL game (5.37) topped the night. ABC had a dreadful evening as America's Funniest Home Videos (0.23) was only a few ticks above summer reruns for its season premiere. After AFHV, repeats of The Golden Bachelorette (0.07) and Doctor Odyssey (0.06) were at CW levels. The Chosen (0.02, -0.02) slipped on the CW. Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat.
