Ratings Analysis: Tim Allen returned to ABC for one night only as the alphabet network decided to air his 1994 Christmas film The Santa Clause (0.28). This broadcast was modest at best and only a touch higher than the episode of AFV (0.27, -0.08) that led into it. In the 10 p.m. hour, The Great Christmas Light Fight (0.24, +0.03) built on last week's abysmal premiere. CBS had no real NFL boost, so 60 Minutes (0.44, -0.58) and Yellowstone (0.22/0.18) collapsed. Fox gave Krapopolis (1.20, +1.00) another stint in the 8 p.m. time slot, using the power of football to catapult the animated comedy to a new series high. The Simpsons (0.59, +0.28) retained less than half of its Krap lead-in at 8:30 but was up from its last episode that aired without NFL help. Cartoon staples Bob's Burgers (0.40, +0.17) and Family Guy (0.37, +0.14) also improved in the 9 p.m. hour. The Chiefs v. Packers NFL game (5.72) was well above the week-ago Ravens v. Chargers (4.54) on NBC. The Chosen (0.02, -0.02) slipped on the CW.
Finals Update: NFL: Chiefs v. Packers (+1.0), NFL Overrun (+2.0), The OT (+0.9), Krapopolis (+0.3), and The Simpsons (+0.1) adjusted up. 60 Minutes (-0.1) and Football Night in America (-0.8) adjusted down.
