Westworld Canceled by HBO

Westworld is officially closed for good. HBO has announced the cancellation of their veteran sci-fi drama after four seasons. Though the show started out as a strong performer with significant buzz and critical acclaim (it was the recipient of nine Emmys and an additional forty-five nominations), it fell off the radar quite a bit in later seasons, thanks in part to the large breaks between seasons and the changing of the TV landscape since its 2016 premiere. Evan Rachel Wood, Thandiwe Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Luke Hemsworth, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Harris and Tessa Thompson were among the main cast members for the show's most recent season, which ran for eight episodes and wrapped in August. The fourth season saw a massive ratings decline, with just a 0.06 average in the 18-49 demo and only 0.35 million viewers, declines of 73% and 57%, respectively.
