Ratings Analysis: Summer staple 'Celebrity Family Feud' (0.68) remained a sturdy force on ABC but was clearly a good bit weaker on premiere night than in years past. This rating is nearly 30% below the program's 2021 start (0.92) but still higher than ABC's Tuesday and Thursday-night game shows. At 9, Janelle James-hosted 'The Final Straw' (0.42) retained a mediocre 62% of 'Feud' and debuted below 'Generation Gap' (0.46) despite having a much stronger lead-in. Afterward, 'The $100,000 Pyramid' (0.34) made a rough transition back to the 10PM hour, posting a new series low out the gate. Both 'Final Straw' and 'Pyramid' were put to shame by a 7PM encore of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.49). Leading out of a '60 Minutes' rerun' (0.40), CBS's 'Big Brother' (0.72) was about a tenth behind Wednesday's return but stood as the top program of the evening nonetheless. Feeble encores of 'The Equalizer' (0.22) and 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.23) completely squandered the post-'Brother' timeslot. NBC had a horrific night as 'Who Do You Think You Are?' (0.14) was dead on arrival for its premiere in the 7PM hour. A rerun of 'Dancing With Myself' (0.08) somehow went even lower, but 'America's Got Talent' (0.20) salvaged the evening a bit. Fox was entirely in repeat-mode, with the 7PM 'Beat Shazam' (0.13) and 8:30PM 'Great North' (0.14) serving as the weakest links. 'Simpsons' (0.17), 'Bob's' (0.16), and 'Family Guy' (0.19) all performed a touch better. The CW had a stable 'Riverdale' (0.06) and an encore of 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.05).
Finals Update: 'Celebrity Family Feud' (+0.1) adjusted up, as did repeats of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (+0.1) and 'Bob's Burgers' (+0.1).
