It was premiere Sunday, and Fox's Ghosted was the clear winner of the new shows, which did surprisingly well despite low buzz and low expectations. The supernatural comedy pulled a 1.4 for its series debut, tying both its Simpsons lead-in and fellow newbie Wisdom of the Crowd. The Simpsons returned at that 1.4, steady with its year-ago premiere and up 5 tenths from its finale. Bob's Burgers was up from its 2016 premiere by two tenths, starting at 1.3. It tied Family Guy, which, like the Simpsons, was steady with its year-ago premiere. The same could be said for the Last Man on Earth, which at 0.9 was also steady. CBS had a large football lead-in of 3.8 to help jumpstart the night. 60 Minutes had a solid 2.0, with 2.2/1.8 half-hours. Wisdom of the Crowd didn't really take advantage of its lead-in, with a 1.4 premiere. It's not a great start, but it's far from the worst piece of news CBS has gotten this week. Behind it, NCIS: LA was down significantly from 2016 with its new time-slot, but it looks like it will be an improvement on what Madam Secretary was doing last year. They rounded out the night with a solid 0.8 for a SEAL Team repeat. ABC had some incredibly mixed results. They began with a horrible, no good, very bad 0.4 for the Toy Box at 8. The number speaks for itself. This show is a flop. It's down an astounding amount from last year's AFHV. Shark Tank made the best of its new night (and disastrous lead-in), with an incredible 1.1 for its first half and a 1.4 (!) for its second, making it UP from last year despite the crappy circumstances. At 10, Ten Days in the Valley (expectedly) did terrible with a 0.6. NBC had NFL and of course won the night handily.
Finals Update: 60 Minutes (+0.1), NCIS: LA (+0.1), and Sunday Night Football (+0.9) adjusted up. The Simpsons repeat (-1.0), Ten Days in the Valley (-0.1), and Wisdom of the Crowd (-0.1) adjusted down.
