The ReidOut and Alex Wagner Tonight Canceled by MSNBC

MSNBC has canceled two of their primetime series: the Joy Reid-hosted The ReidOut, and the Alex Wagner-hosted Alex Wagner Tonight. Both cancelations come after MSNBC was announced to be joining SpinCo, a new spinoff company of Comcast.

The ReidOut has occupied MSNBC’s 7 pm time slot since 2020, and is currently in its sixth season. Alex Wagner Tonight is newer, occupying the 9 pm time slot on Tuesdays through Fridays since 2022 and currently in its third season. Both The ReidOut and Alex Wagner Tonight are expected to air their final episodes the week of February 24-28. Wagner will remain at MSNBC as a special correspondent.

MSNBC is turning to their weekend programming to fill the holes created by these cancelations. The 7 pm time slot on weeknights will now be occupied by a new show hosted by Symone Sanders Townsend Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez, hosts of the Saturday morning show The Weekend. It is widely expected the 9 pm time slot will go to Jen Psaki, host of Sunday morning show Inside with Jen Psaki.
