INT. APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - EVENING
Last time on Writer’s Block, JACK and NOAH give out scripts to negative reception from JILL and STEVE.

They shake hands.

NOAH
Now, I have to work on this project.

JACK
(confused)
Could you let me in on this project for a little bit?

Noah then sits down on the couch. He faces Jack.

Jack, with a timid look, crosses his arms.

NOAH
Okay, here’s the pitch. I’m working on this new sitcom I am writing.

Noah then takes a breath.

NOAH (CONT'D)
...which happens to be about network executives and their mishaps.

JACK
Whoa. That is interesting. Pitch it to me!

NOAH
Alright. We have a protagonist, Jesse. He can’t seem to balance his professional and his personal life very well. He dumps his ex for this girl at the bar.

Noah then gets up from the couch.

Jack’s eyes widen. Jack then un-crosses his arms.

Jack then manages walk over to the couch and sit down on it.

NOAH (CONT'D)
This leads to the show that he orders to series to get bad ratings.

JACK
Okay, slow it down. That sounds more like it needs soapy elements. What if you got a gossip columnist?

NOAH
We were columnists once Jack.

JACK
Yeah right, on a ratings blog.
(smirking)
She is feisty. Requires a baseball bat.

NOAH
I understand we are trying to make a sitcom, but we cannot just make a show over the top.

JACK
So, that adult programming block on that kids’ channel we used to watch long ago has shows for mature audiences. They are also over the top.

NOAH
No we are not making one for Adult Swim.

JACK
What about a streaming outlet?

NOAH
What money do we have?

Jack paces back and forth.

JACK
I don’t know.

NOAH
(irritated)
Exactly.

JACK
Instead of thinking about networks, why don’t we just start writing the episodes?

Noah’s eyes widen. He crosses his arms, then places his hand on his face, in a thinking position.

NOAH
Par the course. Let’s do this.
