Modern Family Renewed for Final Season, A Million Little Things and The Good Doctor Also Renewed

ABC has renewed three series for additional seasons, one for one of them, it will be the final one. New drama A Million Little Things, returning drama The Good Doctor, and veteran comedy Modern Family have all been renewed for next season.

Modern Family, ABC's iconic, Emmy-winning hit that has been a staple of their Wednesday lineup since 2009, will end with the eleventh season. This makes it one of the longest-running comedies of all time. It averages a 1.34 for this season, making it the #2 ABC comedy behind "freshman" The Conners.

A Million Little Things hasn't been a runaway success for ABC, with plenty of low 0.7s to its name, but it has had something of a ratings renaissance this year with its move behind Grey's Anatomy. That move was a clear sign of support from ABC, support that appears to have been well-placed. It averages a 1.1 for its 2019 airings and a 0.88 overall.

The Good Doctor was one of the biggest hits of the 2017-18 season, but has cooled significantly this season. It still remains one of ABC's top dramas, only behind Grey's Anatomy for the season-long averages. The Freddie Highmore-led drama averages a 1.09 for this season.
