*: Adjusted numbers; no half-hours available
(LY): The numbers are from last year's finale
Please note that last year's numbers are taken from the whole hour statistics, not the half-hours.
Yes, last night were the Grammys, exceptionnally aired on a Monday to take benefit from the President's Day week-end. While this might have been a good decision, we got to note that the awards were down a lot, averaging around a 7.3 for the whole run, a tenth lower than last year. Was it because it was aired on Monday instead of Sunday, or just the usual year-to-year slope? Hard to tell...
What's very apparent though is how every other show was down, sometimes drastically, because of the awards. The CW played it safe with a special and a rerun, but FOX didn't, and surprisingly, it didn't suffer that much from it. True, The X-Files was down 4 tenths, but it was still over 2 and Lucifer, the show I thought was gonna suffer the most out of this, only fell a tenth! That, to me, is kinda impressive.
ABC did well too with The Bachelor only down 3 to 4 tenths, staying very close to The X-Files. Castle, though, after airing a special episode on Sunday, was down to the fractionnal with an overall 0.9, but was as down as a 0.8 in the last half-hour... It is up from Sunday, though, where it got a 0.8.
NBC is already shaky on normal nights, but now it became awful. While Superstore hold okay with a 1.2, down two tenths, Telenovela, while also down two tenths, fell to an unacceptable 0.7. The Biggest Loser also went to the fractionnals, with a 0.8 in the first hour and a 0.9 in the last, losing around three tenths overall.
