WEEKLY ANALYSIS

On Monday, Blindspot earned a 2.1 rating, even from last week. After many weeks of spending time in the "likely to be renewed" section, I thought it was finally time to move Blindspot to where it truly belongs: "certain to be renewed."

On Tuesday, Chicago Fire garnered a 1.9, up from last week's 1.6 rating. Certain to be renewed. Simple as that.

On Wednesday, The Mysteries of Laura returned down to a 1.0 rating. At this point, Laura actually has about a 50% shot at renewal, so it will probably remain on the bubble for a while. Chicago P.D.'s two-hour episode event (9:00-11:00) notched a 1.5 rating, which shows this show's great stability. P.D. will certainly be seeing another season.

On Thursday, Heroes Reborn fell even lower to a 1.0 rating. We may see Reborn go fractional as early as next week, so I have finally decided to label it as "certain to be canceled." The Blacklist bounced back up to a 1.5 rating from last week's 1.4 rating, and we may even see it go up a little more now that Thursday Night Football is no longer on CBS (but don't expect too much). This show is easily certain to be renewed. The Player has terrible ratings along with an episode cut, so it is very easy for me to label this show as "certain to be canceled." Also, Jennifer Lopez's new drama, Shades of Blue, will now be replacing The Player starting January 14, which you can read more about here.

On Friday, both Undateable and Truth Be Told managed a 0.7* rating; these shows are likely to be canceled and certain to be canceled, respectively. The season five premiere of Grimm got a 1.1* rating, down from the 1.4 rating of its season four premiere. However, Grimm was NBC's highest rated show of the night and I think it is very likely that we will at least see a shortened final season for this solid Friday-night performer.

*Friday's ratings are subject to change
