What’s Trending on Streaming: Daily Trending Lists for Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, Paramount+ and Max from January 26-February 1

It's a refreshed week on streaming, with new entries from nearly every streamer, breathing news life into charts that have been stagnant for a while. Paramount+ in particular sees a big shakeup this week, at long last. Keep reading to see which shows ruled Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, Paramount+ and Max this week!

Hulu:

Hulu debuted a heavily-promoted new drama this week, with strong results to show for it. Leading the chart for five days was Paradise, a drama reuniting Emmy winner and Oscar nominee Sterling K. Brown with This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman. It's the first new Hulu series in two months, and it's off to a strong start. Its domination on Hulu was interrupted on Saturday by a surprising entry, as ABC docuseries Scamanda made a strong debut at #1 on the service, despite an incredibly poor linear showing on ABC. It was the only ABC Thursday show in the top fifteen this week, as Extreme Makeover didn't crack the chart this week for the first time, and Perfect Wife has long been known to Hulu audiences, having aired on streaming all the way aback in June. The Bachelor also entered strong this week, debuting at #2 and remaining in the top five for the remainder of the week. The dominant ABC Tuesday drama took a huge hit on linear this week, and while the return of CBS was blamed for that drop, declines were also evident on Hulu. High Potential topped the chart on Sunday, but was overtaken by Paradise after that. Still, second isn't a bad place to be. It was later in the week, after a new episode was added to Hulu, that it declined the most, dropping to fourth, then seventh, then eighth, and finally down to tenth on Saturday. Dropping after a new episode airs is very unusual, and this week's performance is well below what we saw from High Potential in previous weeks. The Rookie also dropped after starting the week strong in second place on the chart. Like High Potential, it dropped once a new episode was added, sliding out of the top ten by Friday and barely charting at all on Saturday. In comparison, The Rookie was #2 on Hulu last Friday and Saturday, a noticeable drop even when considering the influx of competition. Will Trent was still the weakest link of the trio, peaking at #5 this week and eventually dropping off the chart. Abbott Elementary still looked strong, peaking at #2 this week and remaining in the top ten all week. Shifting Gears peaked at #3, and was in the top ten on all but one day this week. Celebrity Jeopardy! snuck onto the top 15 in fourteenth place on Friday. Shark Tank and 20/20 were MIA on the chart this week. Daytime series General Hospital charted consistently, peaking at #3 this week.  The strongest Fox shows continued to do well. 9-1-1: Lone Star peaked at #3 this week, though it did drop as low as #13 on the chart. Doc was in the top ten all week, and also peaked at #3. Hell's Kitchen charted six times this week, and peaked at #3. Fellow Ramsay show Kitchen Nightmares also charted six times, peaking at #4. Special Forces managed five appearances on the chart, peaking at #9. Rescue: HI-Surf charted three times, peaking at #5. While Rescue isn't all that strong on Hulu in comparison to many shows on rival broadcast network ABC, it looked stronger than a few other scripted entries on Fox. Animal Control charted three times, but never even cracked the top ten, with a #12 peak. Going Dutch managed a lone appearance on the chart at #15 on Tuesday, but it was absent from the chart on Saturday, when all the other Thursday shows appeared on the chart.

Disney+:

TV looked stronger this week on Disney+, mostly thanks to the entries of a few new series. The most prominent new entry was the debut of the newest Disney+ original, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The second animated series on Disney+ from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man already looks stronger than the recent season of the other Marvel cartoon, What If...? While the third season of that show struggled to ever even chart at all, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has not left the top spot on the Disney+ top ten since its debut. While that's only been three days, that's still enough to be among the strongest debuts for a recent Disney+ original. Hulu original Paradise also had quite the solid debut on Hulu's sister service, starting at #5, rising to #1 the next day, and then slipping to #2 behind Spider-Man the next two days, ending the week at #3. Several ABC series also charted, with Shifting Gears again being the highlight. The Tim Allen sitcom charted every day - the only TV series to do so this week - and peaked at #2, never dropping out of the top five. Megahit drama High Potential still had potential on Disney+, and charted twice, while low-rated Thursday docuseries Scamanda entered at #7 on Disney+. This was the first week since their debuts in which both Dream Productions and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew were entirely absent from the top ten. Movies remained a strong presence in the top ten, with Deadpool & Wolverine and 2019's The Lion King both topping the chart. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Lilo & Stitch 2, Arcadian, the Avengers films, and Mulan were among the films who charted multiple times this week.

Peacock:

Peacock is Olivia Benson's world, and the other shows are just living in it. Law & Order: SVU remained a Peacock powerhouse, topping the chart six times this week, only being dethroned on Saturday, when it fell to third. It was, once again, The Traitors that denied it a full sweep. Peacocks' reality hit had an odd week, charting in the top five at the start of the week, dropping to #8 on Wednesday, then off the chart entirely on Thursday. It was back up to #2 after a new episode dropped, tying its #1 peak by Saturday. It wasn't the only reality show to do well this week on Peacock, as Love Island: All Stars stayed on the chart all week, rising up to #2 on Saturday. Deal or No Deal Island re-emerged on the top ten this week, charting at #6 on Saturday. Several Real Housewives shows also charted, with Beverly Hills making the most appearances, while Potomac, New York and Salt Lake City also charted. The scripted entries seemed pretty limited overall outside of SVU. The Chicago franchise, which had a prominent crossover event, looked solid this week, which Chicago PD peaking at #3, though it slid down to #9 on the chart on Saturday, and lost to Chicago Fire one day this week. Fire's peak was #4, and it looked very consistent not he chart, at either fourth for fifth all week until Saturday, when it also slipped, to #10 on the chart. Chicago Med was still the weakest link of the Chicagos, peaking at #5, spending the majority of the week at #6, and dropping off the list on Saturday. Law & Order charted at #10 on Sunday, but failed to return to the chart after the release of its most recent episode. The Irrational, Found and the Tuesday comedies all failed to chart despite airing this week.

Paramount+:

At long last, life has been breathed back into Paramount+. The streaming service that for months has been relying on reheated Taylor Sheridan and NCIS leftovers for survival saw an influx of content this week, as CBS brought back much of their scripted lineup, and the streamer itself debuted one of its more popular non-Sheridan original series. School Spirits entered strong from the jump, debuting at #1 and holding there the next two days after that. Many Paramount+ originals struggle to crack the top ten at all, so this is a strong debut for the show, especially facing off against the returns of the CBS lineup. Speaking of those returns, this week saw many CBS shows returning to the Paramount+ top ten after being absent since they last aired. NCIS has consistently charted regardless of whether or not new episodes air, and it was the only CBS show to top the Paramount+ chart as it returned this week, doing so three times this week. Whenever NCIS wasn't #1 on Paramount+, it was #2. The other CBS shows had varying levels of success as they returned or premiered. Watson debuted at #2 on the chart after its post-NFL playoffs. While it was a mediocre showing on Sunday night, Watson looked pretty good on Paramount+, peaking higher than any other non-NCIS series. However, it only charted for a single day, so whether this streaming sampling will lead to future success remains to be seen. The Neighborhood has charted on and off in the last few months, but it charted six days this week, returning at #4 on the chart. NCIS: Origins paled in comparison to its parent series, but it did at least make the chart at #7 for one day. That was more than Poppa's House could say, with the sitcom starring Damon Wayans Sr. and Jr. being the only Monday show to miss the chart. FBI was a lone wolf again, charting at #3 upon its midseason premiere, while its spinoffs were missing in action. FBI lasted two days on the chart before dropping off. Thursday's entire lineup charted. Ghosts, as always, looked the best, with the hit sitcom peaking at #3, having charted the entire week. Matlock was #6 on Friday, and stuck around the chart the next day as well, barely sneaking into the top 10 at tenth place. Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage was at #7 on Friday, and was fairly stable the next day, down to #9 on Saturday. Elsbeht charted for one day, at #9. Fire Country returned to the chart looking strong at #3 for its single chart appearance of the week. SWAT didn't make the top ten. With more competition, the Taylor Sheridan shows took a hit. Landman started the week at #1, but it was downhill from there, down to #5 for the next three days and then landing from sixth to tenth the rest of the week. Lioness started the week at #3, but it was a freewill from that point, down to #8 and then off the chart entirely. It was the first week since this column began that Tulsa King failed to chart. In the case of all three Sheridan shows, you can't blame them for finally dropping. Tulsa King ended in November, Lioness in December, and Landman in early January. Dexter also dropped off the chart midway through the week, and its prequel Original Sin did not return to the chart at the end of this week, as it often had this month.

Max:

This week, we got somewhat of an indication that The Pitt's performance on Max may not be as dominant as it appeared to be. The medical drama did top the chart for the majority of the week, but this week also featured the first day since The Pitt's premiere that it did not top the chart. For two days this week, #1 belonged to the new ID miniseries The Fall of Diddy, about the music mogul and monster whose arrest has made national headlines in the last year. The Diddy series led the chart two days this week, and was at #3 for the other three days where it was eligible to chart. We have seen ID shows top the chart in the past, but this one was a bit of a surprise, seeing as it interrupted what had been a multi-week streak of domination by The Pitt. Max comedy Bookie aired its finale this week, and rose to its highest peak of the season, at #3 on Saturday. The show continued to chart throughout the entire week, with its lowest position being a three-day streak at #8 in the middle of the week. Animated Max series Harley Quinn is still struggling to find its footing, only charting two days this week, at #6 on Friday (after a new episode dropped) and then down to #9 on Saturday. Obviously, we don't have the actual viewership figures, but Harley Quinn is looking much weaker than fellow DC cartoon Creature Commandos, which aired in the weeks immediately preceding Harley Quinn's premiere. The Sex Lives of College Girls wrapped up its third season the previous week. As a result, we saw the show descend on the charts as the week went on, starting at #2 and ending the week at #7. That's still a solid showing, especially when you consider that several other Max originals dropped lower than that this week despite having aired more recently. HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher made three appearances on the chart this week, peaking at #3 on Sunday, dropping to #5 on Monday, and then not charting again until Saturday, when it entered at #4. Fellow HBO original An Update on Our Family also peaked at #3 for the week, charting six times this week. Baylen Out Loud remained a standout for TLC, with the new reality series charting six times, much better than the two 90 Day Fiancé series, which both charted twice this week. Cinemax-turned-HBO series C.B. Strike charted twice this week following the premiere of its sixth season. Several library titles also popped into the top ten this week. The West Wing remained the most prominent such title, charting six days this week, while Banshee logged one chart appearance before leaving the chart, and ER snuck into the top ten one day, on the heels of its 30th anniversary and perhaps also boosted by the success of The Pitt.
