Ratings Analysis: "Premiere Monday" brought in an assortment of familiar names and one brand-new series, that being NBC's reboot of drama 'Quantum Leap' (0.47). 'Leap' retained a solid 70% of the demo rating of its lead-in, 'The Voice' (0.67), and beat out the competing drama in its hour by a rather comfortable margin. Though 'Quantum' has found itself with a respectable starting point, the way post-'Voice' dramas hold up in weeks 2 and 3 usually determine their true strength. 'The Voice' itself (0.67) was a shadow of its former self, sinking by almost 40% from its fall 2021 premiere rating (1.08). In contrast, veteran drama '9-1-1' (0.69) returned in particularly strong fashion on the Fox network, dipping by a light 9% from what it posted one year prior (0.76). 'The Cleaning Lady' (0.35) did not fare nearly as well as its lead-in and began season two with a new series low, clearly indicating signs of a sophomore slump.
New series lows were also prevalent on CBS as 'The Neighborhood' (0.50), 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.43), and 'NCIS' (0.42) found themselves going lower than any rating from their previous seasons. 'NCIS: Hawai'i' (0.40) was the odd one out here and managed to best a few episodes from late last spring. ABC's 'Vikings v. Eagles' NFL game (3.81) was a whopping 77% higher than the week-ago 'Broncos v. Seahawks' broadcast (2.16) and unsurprisingly outpaced every other offering. The CW decided to sit out premiere Monday by going with reruns of 'Mysteries Decoded' (0.05) and 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.05). This was a good bit lower than what repeats of these two put up against the Emmy awards last week (0.06/0.09).
Finals Update: 'NFL: Vikings vs Eagles' (+1.2) and 'The Neighborhood' (+0.1) adjusted up.
