Ratings Analysis: NBC's 'American Ninja Warrior' (0.47) returned in excellent shape for its fourteenth season premiere, coming in a single hundredth higher than its 2021 debut (0.46). That growth may seem insignificant but comes off as a success in an era where most programs return well below their previous seasons. The good news continued into the 10PM hour as 'Weakest Link' (0.35, +0.15) shout up to a season high for its first episode in over a month, likely due to having a much stronger lead-in than before. The positive momentum was also visible on Fox as 'Don't Forget the Lyrics!' (0.37, +0.10) and 'Beat Shazam' (0.40, +0.09) both climbed to their highest ratings of the season. On ABC, a showing of the 2012 Pixar film 'Brave' (0.33) was a full tenth above the week-ago Zootopia broadcast (0.23). A rerun of 'The Chase' (0.20) settled for last place in the 10PM hour. CBS's reruns of 'The Neighborhood' (0.38), 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.29), 'NCIS' (0.25), and 'NCIS: Hawai'i' (0.23) all improved from last week's numbers. On the CW, 'Roswell, New Mexico' (0.05) and 'In the Dark' (0.03) had absolutely abysmal returns.
Finals Update: 'American Ninja Warrior' (+0.1) and 'Don't Forget the Lyrics' (+0.1) adjusted up.
