Tucker Carlson was in the news this week. Controversies such as criticizing CNN’s town hall with Sesame Street characters and the motive of the Black Lives Matter movement have led to many loyal advertisers declining to continue to advertise on his show. Because of these comments, curiosity in Tucker Carlson Tonight must have spiked, with Thursday’s airing being this week’s highest-rated cable news prime time program in A25-54, A18-49, A18-34, and total viewers. Time will tell if the ratings bump will continue, and how FOX News adapts to having to find new advertisers.

For the most part, all of FOX News’ programs rated higher than CNN’s, which in turn rated higher than MSNBC’s. The only exception to this is Monday night’s broadcast of CNN Tonight, which posted a 0.50 in A25-54, tying FOX News’ weekly low and edging it out in A18-49 and A18-34.

All In with Chris Hayes has the dishonor of not being one of the top 50 cable shows in A18-49 Monday night. As such, no A25-54 or A18-34 ratings have been reported. It is likely that it did slightly worse in those demographics as it did earlier in the week.

Most notably, CNN has fallen back down to earth a bit, with only one hour managing to go above two million viewers. Everything on CNN was viewed by less people than the programs on FOX News, and many hours saw a lower viewer count than MSNBC. It should be made clear, though, that advertisers care mostly on the A25-54 ratings, not total viewers.
