Black Lightning: Recently, there were domestic violence allegations against the show's co-creator Salim Akil. A month ago, Warner Bros. filed an inquiry into the producer's professional behavior and found no evidence of any allegations of misconduct on both Black Lightning and the now canceled OWN show Love Is__, the TV memoir based on the love story of Akil and his wife Mara Brock Akil. These allegations were filed by Akil's former girlfriend, Amber Dixon Brenner through lawsuits accusing him of abuse and copyright infringement. He has since denied the allegations. Given Love Is__'s cancelation on OWN, I cannot see the CW keeping this show unless he is fired as showrunner. CW president Mark Pedowitz will most likely have questions about these allegations thrown at him at the TCA Winter Press Tour. Also, CW already is feeling the effects of half-owner CBS's issues with sexual misconduct. They don't need any more issues on the WB side, as this could mean a PR nightmare. Based on past action on the WB side, Andrew Kreisberg was fired from the Arrowverse after sexual misconduct allegations. But because nothing is being done to Akil at this point, this means Black Lightning is now likely to be canceled. I feel like for my prediction record, this would be a swing and a miss if renewed.
